When I first put my mind to dietary changes (was before I opened this account) my hubby was bringing home all kinds of things...things he knew I liked. Had become habit for him. I chalked it up to him being sweet and attentive. However, I reiterated that I was making changes. When he continued to bring home the same…

I can see how the support is great with having lots of friends here. But, what happens when commenting time cuts into exercise, family time, personal time, and work... it seems that it could get overwhelming. I love having supportive friends and love to be supportive in return. But how do you deal with a large friend's…

You look amazing. I am working towards that!

That's awesome your husband is on board with you! My hubby drastically cut back once I dropped it. And he started exercising with me too. Love it!

Oh congrats! I am looking forward to day 30. I am def feeling physically stronger. Did not fully realize how tired and unmotivated it made me feel till I got off of it.

Squats, deadlifts, cycling

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Hi lovelies! I am pre-diabetic and have modified my diet to fight it. Still new to me (knowledge of it). I would be happy to give support!

Day 11. Still going strong. Do miss it!

If you are eating the same type of food daily and getting the same result, being tired, maybe switch it up to get more of a variety? Also, too low on calories = low energy. Same goes for alcohol, well for me. But I am pre-diabetic, so that just might be me?? In any case, if your calories are set at 1200, for example, and…

I am so sorry for your loss Beckyacm! I can only imagine what you have been going through.

I love beer, even more than chocolate. But cannot stop at one or two (beers that is). Nor am I able to only indulge on the weekends. So I quit. Maybe someday I will regain the control I once had many years ago. But this is what I have to do right now. If it's not a prob for you, then fit it in.

Nice

Thanks dawnna76! You shaved a couple years off. I'd say you are 29.

Oh yeah, and 41 with a sedentary job...

I am 5'4 and 163lbs and exercise 6/days a week with a mix of cardio and heavy lifting. I am still figuring things out, but have 1600/day, and sometimes a little more. No way I could do 1200 at the moment. Especially with the heavy lifting I like to do. You will just have to find what works for you (and also listen to the…

Same here with everything she said. Yumm curry..... I also love using the grill on weekends to make batches of meat & veggie kabobs, grilled eggplant, rotisserie chicken ect. Pre making portion size servings and freezing/refrigerating is so handy! And of course things like salad or hard boiled eggs I prep/make the night…

Get's harder in our 40's, but it doesn't have to get the best of us. You do need to be ready to make changes though. I was not able to do everything at once, so I started two years ago by cleaning up my diet, food wise. Now here I am with the next challenge, daily exercise along with dropping alcohol. I wouldn't pay too…

I started 8 days ago myself. Here is another recent thread with the same... http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10213093/letting-go-of-booze#latest

Totally agree with adding in strength training or heavy lifting for that matter.

Day 8. Doing better! Am able to push harder in my workouts which is awesome. Also I noticed my skin is not as red as usual/under eyes not as dark.

Yeah, it's scary to actually add up the alcohol induced snack calories! I was drinking 6-7 days/wk. I am sure many of you have seen this but if not, check this out: http://rethinkingdrinking.niaaa.nih.gov/tools/calculators/calorie-calculator.aspx

This was actually me back in my 20's. (I had my first drink in late 20's, but did not get carried away till early 30's). I look back now and am like, what happened? lol

Your awesome. Thanks for the inspiration!

Congrats on three weeks! Boy I am a week in and already getting sugar cravings. Pretty much just pushing through it. But did not expect to get this soon! Must have been borderline alcoholic. lol (Hopefully no one is offended, I like to use humor with difficult situations.)
