  • Do what works for you. Personally, if I work out in the morning without eating, my workouts suffer. I also end up unreasonable hungry and grumpy for the rest of the day. But if I eat and then immediately work out, I tend to feel sick to my stomach. I do best when I work out in the late afternoon, a few hours after eating…
  • I love it because when I'm done, I don't have to a)shower, dress, drive home OR b)drive home all sweaty. It's nice to just be able to hop in the shower at home and then put on some pajamas.
  • I used to have a hard time (and sometimes still do). It's just a mental block, and I remind myself that I have *never* regretted going and getting a workout.
  • Back from vacation. Only got in 1 workout during the trip, and it was mostly messing about. Some goblet squats, OHP, and rows. I did average about 20K steps every day for that week, which is a lot of walking for me. :) I also managed a spa afternoon, with an absolutely amazing deep tissue massage. Hurt sooo good -- I think…
  • Aug 5, Stronglifts 5x5 (I use the app and there was an update! Yay, no longer losing workouts. lol) Front squats, 5x5x65lbs Bench Press 5x5x65 lbs Bent over Rows 5x5x80lbs. Then put in just over an hour on the stationary bike. Last night -- bowling. Not really lifting, but my ball carrier does weigh 60+ pounds. :)
  • I have a bench, some aerobics steps, olympic barbell, smaller (15lb. barbell), adjustable dumbbells, pullup bar, and I also have a stationary bike. I have a spare bedroom where I keep them all and they are out all of the time. I rarely use the bench, I use the aerobics step for doing my bench presses, because it's easier…
  • Hello! New to the site, and getting back to regular exercising. Lots of great lifting going on in here! Aug. 1, got a short swim in. Nothing special, but it was very relaxing. Let's see, Aug. 2, spent about an hour on the bike and then: Front squats 5x5x65 Overhead Press 5x5x50 Deadlift 5x1x145 Aug. 3, 1:15 on the bike…
  • Almost every exercise in Stronglifts and in NROL4W can be done with dumbbells rather than barbells. The problem (in my mind) is going to be that it's very hard to gt an appropriately challenging amount of weight with dumbbells. I don't have a power cage, but I have done NROL4W and 5x5 at home without one. I work out at…
