You have this! Choose each day to be the best you can be while you embark on your journey. It won't be easy, and some days you will want to give up. Don't give up! As for my "Enough is Enough"... I developed vertigo that lasted 7 weeks. I went to the Dr. to figure out why I felt drunk when I walked, and it was the first…

Being discouraged is fine as long as you don't give up! Getting started is easy when compared with making a daily decision to eat better and move more. And if you are anything like me, you need to think in terms of this being a life change instead of a diet. Think marathon and not a sprint.

I love my Moving Comfort Maia sports bra. I have 5 or 6 since I workout/run 5-6 days of the week.

Have you thought about doing something like farmer carries? I also agree with pull-ups or something like hanging abs. I only suggest those because I noticed after doing grip exercises my forearms got really firm. They are now one of my favorite parts of my body because when I flex, solid rock! :) Definitely take it easy…

@racheldell4956...you are still so young my friend! Here's my advice that I would give myself 18 years ago. Eat better, lift weights, and do high intensity intervals. I do all of that now, and love my daily workouts. There is enough variety that I do not get bored unless I'm running for half-marathon training.…

This is so refreshing to read! I started at 240, and have lost about 75 pounds. I went on a holiday road trip half way across the US, so I'm working off whatever I gained on that trip. Like you all, I'm 5"4" with a goal between 135 and 150. My frame is small, but I wouldn't call myself petite by any means. Feel free to add…

I ate plenty leading up to Saturday. I was just thrown with what I saw with the calorie burn. I'm sure it's user error which I'll be able to confirm on my next run, tomorrow. I also focused on eating today and felt better after a hearty breakfast and snack. My energy didn't feel depleted during my Monday Tacfit class. I…

I looked at MapMyFitness, and even though I swear I recently changed my weight in the app, it was set to 50 pounds higher. I've lost 75 altogether. I'm thinking that perhaps this may have been the cause for MapMyFitness, and since it reads into Fitbit and MFP, it made everything read incorrectly. I updated it, so I will…

I did think it was high so perhaps it doubled somehow. I tend to be skeptical on calorie burn anyways since I know it's not always accurate. As for eating back, I will eat back half after my next long run. The last thing I want my body to do is to start breaking down. I've worked really hard to get it where it is now, and…

Thanks, @jgnatca. I'll make sure to do that today. @Char231023, honestly, I have no idea. I'm not a small girl or a big one at that. I'm still at the really high end of normal. More than half of my run was on an incline, so perhaps the hills gave me that little extra. My avg. heart rate was also 172 bpm, so I know it…

I did 2 rounds counting containers on the iPhone app and calories on MFP. The last week I was on vacation and tried to track only on MFP. I don't mind doing just that, but I like the structure of the containers. That said, I did notice that sometimes my calories were a little low so I would have extra veggies to offset the…

Variety is key! But, I do know what you mean. I was bored myself, and going to classes cured that for me. Granted, my gym is at my work, so it's convenient. During the weekend, you will find me outside hiking, at the park, or running around my neighborhood.

You both have this!!! Don't look back!

Honestly, just get MapMyFitness and not all of the individual apps. Why? I have MapMyFitness, MapMyWalk, and MapMyRide, and whenever one of my friends logs what they just did, I get notifications from 2 of the apps based on what they just did. It's overkill.

It will definitely take time and patience. Mine is slowly disappearing, but I have focused on zero white sugar the last month. While it works for me, it won't work for everyone. Just be patient and stay on track. Don't get discouraged!

I second Maia by Moving Comfort. I'm slowly replacing the Champion bras I got from Target over the last few years with the Maia. Like most of you, I double up on the days I don't have the Maia on.

I am on week 3 of my 2nd round. I'm down 10 pounds altogether, but I believe the reason I haven't "lost" more is that I've gained muscle in the process. I actually do not do the videos, but instead just concentrate on the gym classes I have at work: boxing, Tacfit, and interval training (this isn't a class, but a…

I was on track to losing 60 pounds in the first 6 months, but it ended up being around 40 I think. I'm 2 1/2 years into my journey and am on the verge of 70 pounds altogether. I have friends who lost everything in a year, but I'm realistic with and know a slower weight loss will most likely mean I will be more successful…

This entire thing is perplexing to me. I don't eat back my calories, and I haven't felt fatigued during a workout or extremely hungry afterwards or throughout the day. I am losing, but I don't want to kill my metabolism. When I have eaten more of my calories back, the "you will weigh x in 5 weeks if you eat like this" goes…

Are you just looking for squat exercises or multiple exercises for a leg focused day?
-
Goodness, this is a tough one! I really love the boxing class we have at work. I also enjoy the Tacfit classes as well. Both are so different from each other which makes them both my favorites.
-
I agree with this post. We do goblet squats all the time in the Tacfit class I take at work. You can go pretty heavy if adding weight is what you are looking for. If the dumbbell isn't working, take a kettle bell with the bottom up with your handles cradling the bell part and squat. Make sure you keep it up near your face…

I assume your 500 meter sprint was crazy fast! I know just doing it in under 2 minutes nearly kills me and that is just one! I couldn't imagine doing 10!
-
I'm currently doing my 2nd round of the normal 21 Day Fix, but I'm not doing the exercises as I have classes at work that are a better alternative for me. My first round, I lost 7 pounds and 4 inches (I only measured 3 body parts). I like that I have a wide arrange of options of stuff to eat every day while not feeling…

I've been at this for 2 1/2 years now. There are 2 defining moments in this journey that got me focused and determined to get healthy. This was your question I believe. 1. After a crazy quarter at work, I developed vertigo for 7 weeks. I went to the doctor and saw my weight which scared me straight. I realized my body was…

I'm a huge fan of weight lifting. In fact, the class I'm going to at the gym at work tomorrow is my weekly weight class. BUT, I think what's important to know is that you don't necessarily need all the fancy weights to have an effective "weightlifting" experience. I say this because bodyweight exercises like…

There are a lot of videos out there where you just use your body weight or dumbbells. Some people swear by the Beachbody products like P90x, Insanity, or 21 Day Fix. I did some of the Biggest Loser stuff early on. What's great about videos is that you don't have to come up with a program on your own.

I've been there! I have a blog in which the first 3 posts were about me beginning...again. The difference between the first 3 attempts with what actually worked is that I was desperate for change, so failing or giving up again was not an option at all. I also focused on it being a journey and not a diet. For me, diets are…

I'm not a parent, but I would imagine one of your motivations would be your children. I've heard many parents say that they want to get healthy so their children have a good mentor and so they can see their children grow up. You will find that when your clothing fits a little better and what you see on the scales going in…
