I'll do the statistical analyses for co-authorship.

No, thanks.

You, too.....

It's not. If you're bloated or retaining water from extra salt, the best thing you can do is drink more water (not laxative tea).

@mccindy72 I thought you might appreciate this: http://www.fritolay.com/nutrition/special-dietary-needs/us-gluten-free-products-and-products-not-containing-gluten-ingredients.htm

Not denying that at all. That does not make the food bad. That does not even make the food bad for that person. I call it taking responsibility for one's actions. I don't see at as a sign of weakness, either. Like you, I also have certain foods I do not keep in the house, because I have poor self-control when it comes to…

You need to see a therapist.

What you're missing is the fact that, unless you have a medical need to, you don't need to worry so much.

About 1400 per day, give or take. Lots of protein. Glass of wine in the evenings, too.

You could also track something other than sugar.
-
Actually, she said she was eating healthy. She said nothing about a calorie deficit. OP, are you weighing what you eat? Tracking that?
-
This.

Or, you can post the research to substantiate your claim.

Is the whopping 7 extra grams of carbs per 100g, 3 of which are from sugar, really that big a deal for someone who doesn't have a medical condition which necessitates limiting sugar intake?

Really?

I shouldn't have to cite the difference between GABA and dopamine....

Cheetos or other chips are still not "bad foods", even for you. They are foods which you don't have a lot of self-control around. Some people have specific foods for which they have trouble controlling portion sizes, or which go so far as to trigger binges, but that does not make the food inherently bad, even for that…

NO. Particularly the bold. For starters, food does not have the same effect on the brain as alcohol. Additionally, you are mis-representing the results of the study which looked at food vs cocaine in rats; the study was poorly designed, and your conclusion from the results of the study is wrong. Additionally, food cravings…

Amen. (No pun intended. Really.)

In terms of weight loss, no, it does not. In terms of balanced nutrition, context is important. There are times when a burger is a better choice, and there are times when a salad is a better choice.

I usually make lettuce wraps instead of using bread.

How frequently does your LO nurse? Breastfeeding can also hinder weight loss. Echoing what another poster said, at 1200 calories, you're risking your supply.
-
It's calories that matter for weight loss, not necessarily grams of fat.
-
Are you weighing everything you eat to make sure your portion sizes are appropriate? Logging what you eat to track your calories?
-
As with non-GF diets, this is completely dependent on your food choices. I tend to eat roughly 40% protein / 30% carb / 30% fat, but that is because of what I choose to eat. With different choices, I could do low-carb, keto, or high carb; it's all about what you choose to eat.

OP said processed, nothing about macronutrient density. OP, there is a clean eating thread in the Nutrition Debate section; you may want to read it. Just so you know, your definition of clean eating excludes things like cottage cheese, smoked salmon, and frozen vegetables.

You should get testing for celiac if you think you have it. You will need to eat gluten-containing products for a few weeks before you get tested. If you really have celiac, you cannot eat gluten. Period. No eating it occasionally / special treats. None. If you're serious, go get tested. Having said all that, I do not have…
