  • I would vote tank top. Compression vs short socks are such a personal preference. Temps seem pretty nice but will feel warm after several miles. Good luck!!

I managed a short pre-work run yesterday. Today I went to Pilates. I can already tell I will be sore tomorrow.

Luckily our cars are in the garage so no cracked windshields but my kid heard it hitting their…
  • April total: 20 miles YTD: 292.8/1200 miles 4/2: 5.7 miles 4/3: 3 miles 4/6: 8 miles 4/8: 3.3 miles I did a short run before people started showing up for the eclipse. We had really cloudy weather but managed to see glimpses of the eclipse as it approached totality. It was amazing how dark it got! The birds went totally…
  • Way to go @TheMrWobbly!! @kgirlhart Maybe having trail shoes will inspire more trail running?
  • If you have a welders mask or glasses, the glass in those is perfect for viewing an eclipse. We ordered a small pack of welders glass instead of viewing glasses before the last one and they gave a sharper image than the flimsy stuff they use for the glasses.
  • @7lenny7 is on the course. Good luck today!!
  • April total: 16.7 miles YTD: 289.5/1200 miles 4/2: 5.7 miles 4/3: 3 miles 4/6: 8 miles Cloudy, breezy and not too hot this morning. Even got a little mist. By some people's standards that's pretty crappy but I love to run in that kind of crappy weather. The wildflowers are holding on, which gives some pretty views. The…
  • April total: 8.7 miles YTD: 281.5/1200 miles 4/2: 5.7 miles 4/3: 3 miles Logging 2 to get caught up. Nothing too eventful for either of these runs. I am working early a couple days this week so not too many run days. Like @Teresa502 I struggle to find motivation to run after work. Unless I'm training I don't usually force…
  • Good luck @7lenny7!! Can't wait to read your race report. Conditions sound perfect!! Love seeing the in person meetups @tarun_yadava @quilteryoyo. And of course the classic Tarun thumbs up pose! Sorry to hear about the life curve balls @AlphaHowls. I hope your mom feels better soon.

  • @TheMrWobbly Smart call to stop when you did. You’re too close to race day to risk a serious injury. And you got the miles in anyway. Great job! @tarun_yadavA 12+ hours is a brutal drive. Hope y’all had fun at the game. I think basketball is way better in person that on TV. @quilteryoyo Your wildflowers are looking…
  • Once again, no monthly goal. I am doing a race weekend at Disney world with my friend and just getting some runs in here and there.
  • Thanks for getting us set up @AlphaHowls. I went out to the hill country this weekend. Couldn't be bothered with running this morning but got some weeding done. And a lot of cooking. Planning on a run tomorrow though.

  • Been MIA for several days. Still trucking along. Just life/work eating up my spare time. I caught up on 79 comments from you chatty folks! Lots of good running and so many inspiring stories. As for me, I logged religiously for probably 2-3 years. I don’t log anymore but I meal prep, so I’m still kind of logging. I prep…

  • That was a roller coaster @7lenny7! I’m really hoping for long term relief once the cortisone kicks in so you can get to the starting line!

This morning was cool, humidity was low,…
  • You are such an all or nothing person! I have a wild idea. Hear me out. Maybe don’t let loose? ;) BTW, totally agree with you on American chocolate. We have a British store near us and the chocolate is so much better. It’s got a better texture and is less sweet. It tastes like chocolate not sugar. @Laurz9191 You’re doing…

I've checked in a couple times but haven't taken the time to update my log. Summer is upon us again. My last 2 runs have been…
  • @daria0919 No shame in stepping down to the lower level training group. You'll still be prepared for race day and your body will have more opportunity to recover.
  • For PK you'll be ok in road shoes. Esp because you don't really do trails any other time.
  • March total: 25.1 miles YTD: 226.3/1200 miles 3/2: 4.1 miles 3/4: 4.1 miles 3/5: 6.4 miles 3/7: 3 miles 3/9: 4.5 miles 3/11: 3 miles Short run before work. Cool, dark, and quiet. ♥️ It's spring break week here so the traffic is also quieter. Only saw 1 person and a handful of cars. I didn't run yesterday but my kid and I…
  • March total: 22.1 miles YTD: 223.3/1200 miles 3/2: 4.1 miles 3/4: 4.1 miles 3/5: 6.4 miles 3/7: 3 miles 3/9: 4.5 miles I had to work today but it was too nice of a morning to skip running altogether. A cold front came through last night and I know to appreciate all the nice days I can get before summer is here!
  • @quilteryoyo Sorry to hear you're having a tough time finding motivation right now. I have a feeling you'll be back before long. That's hilarious! Who knows, maybe some foreshadowing for tomorrow's race?
  • March total: 17.6 miles YTD: 218.8/1200 miles 3/2: 4.1 miles 3/4: 4.1 miles 3/5: 6.4 miles 3/7: 3 miles Short pre-work run today. It was ever so slightly cooler, which was nice. Largely unremarkable except for the number of people I saw. On these pre-work runs I am out the door by 5:45 a.m. I usually see the same couple of…
  • Last night I took the kid to see Beetlejuice the musical. It was hilarious and both of us liked it better than the movie, which was fine. I probably should have done a run this morning but I didn't want to get super sweaty and have to do my hair again before work. I am aware that this may be a weak excuse but in my…
