This is my favorite Pioneer Woman recipe: https://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/beef-stroganoff/. It's a family favorite. Hmmmm. I was gonna do meatloaf on Saturday, but maybe I'll go stroganoff.

@7lenny7 @sarahthes My hubby drops big numbers at first, too, and generally overall. He doesn't formally track but does kind of keep a mental tally. It's a little frustrating sometimes because I have to weigh and measure or else I end up eating a whole box of cereal. I have had better success keeping off the weight,…

THANK YOU! I've been spending more time with my IP since the insert cracked for my slow cooker. So far a lot of success!

I hope no one judges me or my son when I feed him mac and cheese. We even eat drive through food sometimes! OH THE HUMANITY!

You'll want to make sure you are in a calorie deficit. Are you tracking your calorie?

Think of sneakers for your walks as exercise equipment. Not using the right equipment or not using it correctly can lead to injury or pain. I's look at a good pair of walking shoes from a reputable brand like New Balance or really any running shoe company. I find bargain shoes by looking at discount sites that usually…

Pretty good so far since the new year. I'm 1/2 for work outing lunches in terms of keeping on track. Scale is sloowwwwwly releasing the lbs from December. Being able to exercise regularly again helps a ton. I'm comfortable enough now to start planning an actual race schedule for the year and feel like I can meet it. Not…

I'm back to running 3x per week for the most part and some exciting training news coming up soon. I've been mostly pain free for a few weeks now (with the exception being today as I think I aggravated it during a HIIT workout). I have to be pretty cautious with my leg position when doing cross training, but I've run up to…

Have you used the MyFitnessPal tool to set a calorie goal? You'll probably want to run it through wanting to lose .5lbs per week.

The Kirkland brand at Costco doesn't use palm oil.

I'm typically shoving food in my face as I'm sitting in bed about to turn the lights off before I drift off to sleep. Unless it causes you GI distress, it doesn't matter what time of day you eat.

I like the BirdsEye pasta steamers and the cauliflower ones, too.

I rage bought my Instant Pot when hubby had both of our slow cookers in use for winter camping prep. I stomped over to Kohl's, grabbed an Instant Pot from an aisle display of them, and went home on my way to start my IP journey. I only realized when I got home after doing no real research on how to use an IP and the…

Your glutes and hips being weak will cause knee pain in the area you describe. Working with a PT or alternating your running with glute activation/core training will help improve those symptoms and prevent further injuries.
-
Yep. So after the holidays I'm back in a deficit. Just tracking and logging and meal planning as usual.
-
I've been on an Instant Pot kick lately, working on converting my slow cooker recipes to the IP. So far I've had a great deal of success. I've done pulled pork, pork spareribs, and tonight I'm trying a red pepper fire roasted tomato soup.

We have a Cuisinart 10 cup stainless steel brewer. I absolutely love it. It also has a hot water heater which we use for hot tea and hot chocolate. My son loves hot tea, so it's nice to be able to heat water quickly.

The real trick is to weigh the garlic on a food scale and log the precise number of grams used.

9 miles today (posting this literally everywhere I am on the Internet) and don't seem to have aggravated my hip!
-
I went for the full 9 miles today! Went to lunch afterwards with the ladies I ran with. Probably 1100 calories I estimated, but didn't go crazy. Had planned a big long run dinner of ribs and cornbread, so have to scale portions back to stay under goal, but overall confident I didn't totally blow it.
-
Decent food week here. Made a passable white chicken chili in the instant pot. Tomorrow I am going on a group trail run. Could be up to 9 miles, although considering the weather, I doubt it will be that long. Got my grocery shopping in tonight and meal planning done. Just gotta do some prep tomorrow afternoon. Trying some…

Nope nope and more nope. The MFP calorie calculator is designed for adults. If you have a health concern for your daughter, see a doctor or a mental health professional.
-
A few things to try: Take a diet break: Figure out what your maintenance calories are (use the MFP calorie generator and select "maintain" weight" as your setting). Eat at that calorie goal for two weeks, and then do that again to set your deficit (see the next step). Reset your deficit: Re-enter your current stats into…

I pretty much refused to exercise at first and only focused on diet. Minus walking my dog 2x per day, I started at 256lbs. After about 30lbs or so lost, I wanted to move more, but not really until I was 30lbs or so from goal did I really start exercising more seriously.
-
Not as many miles as I wanted and the miles I did do were much slower, but I made an attempt to run with my doggo this morning. I was worried I wouldn't have enough time to do my run and walk her before work (my son starting HS has us leaving the house about 20 minutes earlier than last year, which doesn't seem like a lot…

Today is one of those days that I'm so excited for lunch because my leftovers are SO AWESOME.

We get our coffee delivered through an Amazon subscription. Hubby is super picky about what he likes. I'm less picky, but do love a good dark roast. It's Vail Mountan Nordic Blend (whole bean). Hubby grinds it for us. I'm too lazy for that.

I have tonight's dinner in sticky notes so I can add tomorrow when MFP is hopefully fixed. Do calories count if MFP is down? I made pulled pork in the IP tonight and it turned out pretty good. I usually make it in the slow cooker and it was pretty comparable. Hubby is travelling, so I picked up some regular buns for boy…
