In a perfect world, all of them. All bodies are different, so it takes experimentation. I tend to eat most if not all of them and still lose.

A tip for managing the holidays: Just make smaller amounts of what you usually eat so the threat of days of high-calorie leftovers is gone. Enjoy the actual holiday meals, but don't extend that eating beyond the holiday. Lots of other great advice here. Unless you are incredibly active and/or have an aversion to meat, I…

I've been slightly over on calories goal is 1500 and I'm getting limited exercise, but I've been coming in at around 1800 each day, which eats up all my exercise calories and puts me over less than 100 calories. All in all, not bad and haven't felt bingey much. The food dynamic with Hubby and I is really interesting. I'm…

Because it's so, so simple yet so many insist on making it so, so difficult.

I found at the gym I like group exercise classes and that I dislike the elliptical. I feel lukewarm about the treadmill (I'm a runner, so only use treadmill in a pinch or very cold weather). I've never been brave enough to try free weights. I screw around with the pull up assist machine from time to time.

You can start 12 weeks ago.

Also a fan of the Bolthouse caesar. I had to warm up to the blue cheese. Not a fan of the ranch. Hubby loves the Sriracha one.

I get stupid near pretty boys also. Downright moronic.

I did another .33 mile loop at a slow jog with the pupper tonight. No pain afterward...more of an awareness of my left hip than anything. My heart felt good! Tomorrow I'm up early to do a Les Mills workout (I have an online subscription). Easy enough to modify or skip parts that aggravate. Trying to get a consistent…

I also love Olive Garden Italian. Surprisingly calorie friendly. I make DIY Olive Garden salads at home quite a bit.
-
Also love Panera Poppyseed!

Hubby and I are in "hunker down" mode until Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving day (and probably a bit of the weekend), will be somewhat indulgent and then another "hunker down" until Christmas. Today was taco salad, which I adore and could actually eat every day. I need to remember that because it's super calorie-friendly with…

I did non-surgery and used MFP. I actually started using it almost knowing it was going to fail because I was pretty insistent that I needed WLS to lose weight. Lo and behold I was very, very wrong. I've lost 100lbs and kept it off for a year and have no food restrictions. I have friends who have done WLS and also lost the…

Still hanging out here. Not running. Although, I snuck about .33 miles with the pupper doing our park loop. I am hoping maybe to try some short runs by the end of the month. We'll see what PT says about that. I've gone to every PT appt and been *mostly* compliant with doing my exercises. The weird thing in working on the…

Your weight is really quite lovely. It's easy to pick on small imperfections after losing a bit of weight. A lot of great advice here, but a good strength program will really help with body composition.

My plan is to eat within calories. I typically fill it with mostly healthy-ish foods that keep me full, but I don't shun any foods or food groups. If I restrict too much, I'll binge so I avoid getting too hungry.

Brisk walks in cool air (free). An online workout subscription: Fitness Blender, Daily Burn, Les Mills On Demand, Beachbody (low monthly cost, usually under $15 per month; may require some equipment like bands, light weights, step). An in-person class: I really enjoy classes at the gym--more than I thought I would since I…

What and how people log is their own business unless they ask for help.

Kind of screwing the pooch on food right now. Not a lot of exercising happening due to injury and it's birthday week. Feeling 10x better so I think PT will allow me to start more meaningful exercise soon. It's my first ultra-low-pain day in a month! Gonna enjoy birthday week and then just stick to a .5lb per week deficit.

@7lenny7 Sorry to hear you'll be out from running, but glad to hear you are taking care of issues!

Today is the first day I have gotten out of bed in almost exactly a month that I didn't feel a myriad of aches and pains. My left hip (with the torn labrum and and FAI) wasn't irritated at all AND the excruciating tightness in the right side of my back was nowhere to be found. I've had to follow PT to the letter to feel…

It took my hair several months to stop falling out after I was undereating also. 1200 was even underrating for me and I was severely vitamin d deficient.

I'm stealing this!

Ate a lot of food this weekend moving my sister from Nevada to Wyoming. This week, back to eating not a lot of food. Not much prep happening, but I should be able to fudge it with the staples we have on hand.

This is totally where I am. I think it flared up my hip something fierce, but my glutes are lazy.

Going slow for more miles will help you go fast for fewer miles. Just keep at it. I found at the beginning I had to go at a pace that felt excruciatingly slow, just to complete 1-3 miles. My first 1-3 miles are still usually my slowest miles, but after spending a year really working at it, I've run up to 18 miles. It…

I tried spinning at the gym and did an online core workout (I'm a big Les Mills fan and subscribe to Les Mills on Demand). One of those things triggered the FAI and I've been hurty for two days. Uggggggg. I haven't tried running, so once I'm done helping my sister move this weekend, I'm going to try a short run next week.…

There are weighted vests you can buy, but a backpack filled with water would also do the trick.

@sarahthes I get you on the PT soreness. I did some indoor cycling yesterday and one of my video workouts for core in addition to PT exercises and I am really feeling it today. @Elise4270 I love a good protein shake, especially chocolate/banana/peanut butter ones (made with PB2). I toss in some spinach, too, and use greek…

I'm travelling to Las Vegas this weekend to help my sister move from Nevada to Wyoming. A healthy lifestyle isn't exactly something she adheres to. Our last road trip together was pretty junky. Hoping to hit a grocery store before we head out of town so I can at least keep breakfast/lunch in check so that wherever we stop…
