You can buy a toaster oven and bake most anything in it. Beef is expensive there, especially domestic. If you like Korean food, you can buy small amounts of side dishes from a side dish shop in the market and just make rice. I used to buy side dishes online too from gmarket and it would just get delivered. So many…

I was turned off by Aldi years ago, but I buy 75% of our groceries there these days. Cheap and fresh produce, 39 cent eggs, 89 cent gallons of milk, every time I go I seem to find something else I really like. When they had their French thing some months ago, they had really good macarons $4/dz and they were better than…

I'm right about where you are on my lifts, and I progressed fairly steadily to here but I've been having a really hard time progressing the past couple weeks. I've deloaded a couple times and it's still really, really heavy. And I have about 20 lbs to lose, but I've been eating at maintenance the past 6 months! My thinking…

Glad you were feeling better! DOMS mostly went away after a few weeks of Stronglifts for me, you won't always have it!
-
For me, reading a lot about what lifting could for me was encouraging. I also watched a lot of Instagram and YouTube videos of women lifting, and still do these to keep myself motivated! I do Stronglifts because it's simple and doesn't take a lot of time.

I have a 35lb and 2.5lb Olympic plate on each side. I'm not sure there's any difference in height on Olympic vs non-Olympic plates, but if you need the bar up higher for deadlifts you can use two blocks. When my kids do DL with an empty bar I prop it up on 2 boxes.

One of the critiques I got on mine a few pages back was butt wink. I did some research on it, and I practice to avoid it by placing a hand near the bottom of my spine and feeling for when my butt starts to tuck under while squatting with no weight. Concentrating on keeping my core tight the whole way through also helps me.…

Pajamas lol. Also, my 7yo works out with me and she wouldn't be able to in a gym. But I should go to the gym once a week at least.
-
I really need to start lifting in a gym for safety. I had a split second where I thought I couldn't get up from a squat and that would have involved weights being thrown on my concrete basement floor. I just don't know if I would stick with my schedule as well though, if I have to dress in public clothes to go workout.

For me, DOMS got better after a few weeks and after a couple months I rarely had painful DOMS! I kind of miss it actually

I haven't been feeling great lately, and I failed my last set of squats at 115lbs and OHP at 60lbs so I deloaded on those last night. Squats 1x5 75lbs, 1x5 95lbs, 5x5 105lbs OHP 5x5 55lbs DL 5x1 145lbs I was excited that I have finally surpassed my body weight on DL, but it was rough and ended up doing 5 individual lifts…

Thank you! I never knew exactly what butt wink was and I just did a little reading on it after I read your comments. I think I will try box squat to see if I can correct that. I've been cruising along increasing weight and now it's starting to get heavy and I definitely don't want to injure myself. Did the bar look like…

I switched to low bar a week ago and still feel a little awkward. In the side view video it looks like the bar is coming way in front of my foot, but I'm not sure if its the angle of the camera? My 7 year old did the videos lol. I'm also working on my wobbly knees, as you can see in the back view video. Any tips on that,…

Thanks for the explanation! I must be doing high bar then, does the bar not rest on anything for low bar then? When I've tried lower I feel like I have to support the weight with my arms.

Today: Squat 5x5 105lbs OHP 5x5 55lbs DL 3x2 125lbs Everything felt okay, but heavy. I've gotten to the point where I need a 90 second rest this past week, before I was counting the seconds and totally ready to keep churning the reps out. I'm still not totally sure if I'm doing high or low bar squats

Haha! I really enjoy this thread too! Its just me...in the basement...sometimes with hubby and/or kids.

You look great! I'm at 140 and I'm over 6 years postpartum
-
Typical for your size might be 24-ish inches? So 130 inches is waay off. Maybe you're measuring in centimeters?
-
Beautiful family!
-
Wow, you looked great! I especially liked you as Jasmine, and I got nightmare flashbacks of making my kids' Link and Zelda costumes last year lol. Looks like you had a great time

Thanks, I never think of Play it Again Sports because there isn't one close by. I think I'll look up where the closest one is!

I have read all 54 pages over the last few days, you ladies are incredibly inspiring! I have been looking into buying a barbell to do SL at home, any recommendations? I've been doing what I can for a couple weeks with 20 lb Dumbbells while keeping an eye on Craigslist, but nothing good locally yet. I'll be sharing…

Do you have to know people who have the activity club app to add friends?
-
At first I sent a little something with each friend request, but I noticed that all the requests I got had nothing. So I started sending nothing. If someone's profile stated they required something I wouldn't know since I only use the app.
-
I am a beginner, but I've been using the Fitocracy app and mostly doing body weight exercises. The app has several full body body weight routines to choose from. I do have a 5lb set and a 20lb set of dumb bells that I use and I would like to buy a barbell sometime soon. HTH!

Im finding there's never a good time to start, I started tracking calories and being more active about 6 weeks ago but I am having a hard time diving into it. Kids, house projects, work...it's never ending! Feel free to add me, anyone.

I wear mine all day long everyday and try to get my rings. Only bad thing is it gets kind of gross on the underside after sweating a lot.
