Swimming and/or water aerobics? Best wishes to you for a successful recovery!!

Or maybe I am reading too much into what you 'might' mean, and not taking your statement at face value. Ugh - is it the weekend yet??

^This Except, I think what you might be referring to is how it "feels" to run outside vs. running on a treadmill. When I was using a treadmill I did find it went a lot easier than doing the same time/distance/speed outdoors, due to weather conditions, wind, and really, lots of other factors. If you're trying to make it so…

I wish I had an answer for you, but I find myself in the same boat. I'm just going to keep trying again and again until I can make it stick. Hang in there!

Interested. Clicking "Join" after I post this. :) Best wishes to all on this journey!! CW: 247.9 lbs. Ultimate Goal Weight (range) : 140-150 lbs.

Great progress!

A lot will depend on your activity, but from what I've seen on the forums, people with your height and weight do lose on 1300-1500 calories (and sometimes eating even more.) Many people find 1200 calories a day to be unsustainable in the long-term, so you may have better results overall if you do eat more to start out with…

I have decent luck by peeling them under running water; the water helps the shell slide right off.

I'll be sure to mention this to the 80+ year old guy I see running all the time on the trails. He'll be glad to know. Or...maybe they meant you're too young to run?

Hang in there! Based on what you've said, I think you could very well lose some weight by working in retail, simply by being more active and having an activity to distract you from depressed thoughts. If you track your calories and activity, though - definitely. More importantly, if you think it will be good for you for…

Also, I agree with this post:

I understand where you're coming from. It sucks to be low on clothing options because of size/weight. Been there. Don't beat yourself up about it, though; as you said yourself, it won't do you any good. If you're here with a goal of losing weight, use your feelings as motivation to start counting calories today! And if…

The carrots and the potatoes look particularly delicious!

Very well done! Congrats on your hard work paying off in a big way!

Can't recall if I posted in this thread already, but I'm in for reducing my alcohol consumption in October. I don't plan to drink this week until Saturday, when husband and I will probably go out to celebrate our anniversary, and after that I plan to keep it to once per week or so. I'm in a Biggest Loser challenge group…

Great progress!

Just chiming in to agree with the other posters: you've made amazing progress! Great job!

Yes, I am talking about that (and I agree, 2nd person having a job obviously makes it better) but I was responding to someone's statement that 2 people could live "quite sufficiently" off a single income in a low-cost area such as those that the poster listed. On a related note, maybe my own state is not as low cost as I…

As a caveat I should have said, I'm using approximate figures, but trying to not be crazy-high on my estimates. Property taxes are paid by the owner of the property (and theoretically incorporated into the rent amounts). There are state and local sales taxes in my state. Those are just paid at the store when buying taxable…

The last statement does not make sense to me. Minimum wage in the U.S. is $9.00/hr. At 40 hours a week, 52 weeks a year ($18,720 annually), that puts the earner in the 2nd to lowest income bracket for 2017, which means they would take home about $1400 if filing married/jointly. I just checked Craigslist and see an average…

It's not so much on here (although, yes, sometimes by commenters on success threads) but mostly on weight loss success stories throughout the internet, when the headline will say someone 'now looks like a completely different person.' I just looked at one where the woman lost 100+ lbs., which is freakin' awesome of course,…

It is difficult, but possible. A few tips: frozen vegetables are more cost effective (because you can keep them frozen and use only what you need each time = less waste) and just as healthy as fresh. Beans are a healthy way to get both fiber and protein at once and you can usually buy a pound for $1 (and get several meals…

Wow! Congrats on your hard work paying off!! You're doing (and looking!) great!
-
Enchiladas come to mind. A restaurant in my town makes a chicken & cream cheese enchilada in a corn tortilla with a mild-to-medium green sauce. Adding in spinach or kale would make it even better!

Congrats on your loss! You are an inspiration!!

Congrats!

Lots of great advice in this thread! Just want to offer some encouragement! I am another 33 year old woman who lives paycheck to paycheck, no kids but also no food stamps so maybe we're about on the same page? :) Hang in there - you CAN make it work to have healthy food around. Buying groceries to make one meal for me and…

Not a typo. :) They're basically small fry-shaped chicken strips, if you're not familiar with them.

Had a Whopper w/ cheese meal, with Coke AND an order of chicken fries for lunch. Same day, for dinner, husband and I decide to get cheesesteaks from Pepperjax. (Husband was not with me; I was picking up our sandwiches from drive thru.) Since drive through line was so full, I go through Taco Bell first to get a Nachos…
