Depends on your budget. If it's in your time budget and your money budget, I recommend buying whole beans from a local coffee shop or supermarket and grinding just enough to make one pot. For standard drip brewing, this is the way to maximize the flavor. (There are fancier ways to make it, like French press, that are worth…

With 75 lbs. to lose, you can safely lose 2 lbs. a week, for a while anyway. However, there's nothing wrong with losing slower, and you may find that doing so is more sustainable. The drastic drop in calories from your usual to 1200 can be quite a shock. There's no need to feel starving when you're losing weight. You can…

Keep up the good work!!

Great progress! Congrats on your hard work paying off! Also, I want your t-shirt collection!!

Is having a certain BMI or weight a requirement of the job? If not, I would strongly consider just keeping on your current track, losing slowly and steadily, and you'll still be closer to your goal. As tinkerbellang83 points out, you may be able to keep your water weight to a minimum by watching your carbs and salt as you…

Great progress!!

I have a different WW scale than was posted above and it also hasn't needed new batteries yet in the several years I've had it. I would buy one again and would recommend it. Mine has 4 different profiles you can set and measures weight, body water %, bone density %, body fat % & lbs. of body fat, and calculates BMI. I know…

Great progress! I enjoy reading your posts on the forums. I definitely look forward to next year's update! Way to go!!

Last night, my dad told me I 'look like [I'm] getting "littler".' The phrasing took a moment to sink in but once I realized what he said, I said thanks and that I'm trying. It was a little awkward mostly 'cause I could tell he was awkward saying it (he's always been normal weight and I don't think he's comfortable just…

OP - I haven't been able to read all the replies, so just going to respond to your initial post. I understand where you're coming from. I've been a "serial starter" in the past, but as soon as I would hit a road block I'd hop off the proverbial bandwagon and go back to my old habits. It is so much a mind game. This time, I…

I have a GIANT grin on my face today. I just met my first mini goal (lose 7% of body weight), so I'm now onto my next goal of losing 10% of my current weight!!

Sorry to hear about your pain and the difficult time that followed. Best wishes!!

I agree this flu season is awful. I don't remember ever being this sick before. I got sick a week ago and am just now starting to think I might survive in the long run. My lymph nodes and throat have been the worst part of it. I hope you feel better soon!

Hello! I'm from Nebraska too. :) When you're in a calorie deficit - meaning your intake of calories is less than your output of calories (TDEE) - your body uses your excess fat stores to supply the energy it's not getting from food consumed. Essentially, when keto works for weight loss, it's because the person eating a…

Woot! Great job!

In for moderation! I did pretty good with it in January as far as drinking less per occasion, but now would like to reduce the frequency a bit. Good luck to all!

Maybe it's not what you're looking for, but in my grocery store in the cake aisle they sell boxes with 3 single-mug packets in them. It's either Duncan Hines or Betty Crocker brand. I've made one and it was just like a regular cake! Had chocolate chunks in it and turned out really good eaten warm. You can make it with just…

Just trust that you're on the right path. You probably did nothing wrong to "gain" those 4 lbs. It's most likely water weight. It's really common to see a jump in weight after some initial losses. It could be as simple as you eating more sodium than usual in the days before your weigh in, or monthly cycle water retention,…

I was thrilled when I input my mom's fudge recipe in the calculator and determined they're around 95 calories for a piece! I was expecting a higher #. I even went back through to double check that I got the right amounts. Hooray for mom's fudge!

I glanced at your food diary for the past few days (looks like some delicious food on there, btw... now I want Indian food!) and I am wondering if all the entries are accurate, esp. for the Indian food. I can't tell - are those pre-portioned meals that you have exact nutrition info for, direct from the source of the food…

Good luck on your journey! You can do it!!

I like using ground venison in a tomato sauce for spaghetti. I've been enjoying it instead of ground beef on nachos (had that for lunch yesterday actually). I also loved substituting it for beef in a stroganoff.

Great post! And congrats on your hard work paying off, too!

Good luck to you on your journey to gain weight! I'm the opposite - need to lose the amount that you weigh! But support is support, right? If you search the forums for "Are you a hard gainer?" and also "calorie-dense foods" you will find some good foods to incorporate into your diet to help you reach your daily…
