  • Woops first page (Cheddar Cheese)
  • Thats amazing! Great job
  • I think it has more to do with energy than anything else. If you think about it we eat about every 4 hours when we are awake, and then sleep for 8 without food, though its also true that our metabolism slows while we sleep, but im not pro, so who knows?
  • The girl every jock secretly wanted
  • Voted most outgoing in the yearbook
  • There is a crazy guy who walks around my neighborhood. He is a retired physicist. He will just walk up to people in the store or out on the streets and just start yelling at them about nothing, and I mean nothing. Like once I saw him walk up and corner someone to start screaming at the poor guy about our government, and to…
  • lol i mean around the same time, that would be massively hard to keep up with the exact time everyday
  • Y This was the best advice, I would only add try to make it the same time too, because steady sleeping patterns also can affect weight loss.
  • Before you started craving the salt and sugar were you under cutting the amount of sodium and sugar you were supposed to be getting per day? The body tends to crave what it needs. I have heard some amazingly crazy stories. I heard a story about a guy who was iron deficient who craved clay because of the iron elements in it.

  • I have started doing the same thing Polish! I am glad there is someone else on this journey with me. Well there is only one thing that is different, I am still eating potatoes, but I am doing that because my doctor says my liver is kinda having a hard time right now. Potatoes with the skin on are a great source of fiber,…
  • I agree with Sarah, that is why not only does MFP have weight trackers, but also waist, neck, and hips measurements. A lot of people think they are going nowhere when really they are making a lot of progress.
  • no I am not trying to accuse anyone of being normal or abnormal, I was saying thats what the FDA considers to be an average normal daily caloric intake for someone trying to maintain their current weight, of course there is no one size fits all
  • I would also like to add Yoka that even though I don't agree with the juice fasting I do wish you the best of luck on your journey. I did voice a lot of things that may or may not have discouraged you and your goals, and I want you to know that all of these things are just me voicing what I believe to be true through what…
  • Okay after an hour I am just going to agree to disagree. All I was trying to say was that if you dont eat enough your metabolism will slow, and a normal healthy human diet is supposed to be 2000 calories a day, for a dieting person between 1500-1700 to lose weight in a healthy way, if you dip too far below that then your…
  • Thanks for the article. It was perfect.
  • Thank you Christine, this is what I have been trying to say. I never said that not eating will cause you to NOT lose weight. What I have been saying over the posts is that since your metabolism drops, it would be silly not to think that when you go back to eating normally, you will gain weight back fairly quickly due to…
  • I have consulted a doctor on the issue. Normally I am not one to talk about websites, but it just seems that after so much that says that a metabolic change does occur, as to not seeing a single article that says that there is no metabolic change due to malnutrition, it is hard to believe that so many people are wrong. I…
  • I just dont understand why all of these sites would say that there is a definite metabolic change when the body doesnt have enough calories if its not true. I mean like I said the fat preservation is a myth, you were right, i humbly accept I couldnt have been more wrong about that, there is a lot of evidence pointing…
  • I didnt say you put it on while eating too little, i said you put it on when you return to a normal diet because your body has adjusted to lower calories
  • What I am saying is that it will only take the amount of calories it needs to function and store the rest as body fat. If while in this metabolic state where the body is functioning fine on lower calories you start to eat more calories it will take a while to adjust. Where are you getting your facts from? I am really not…
  • Unless someone is planning on eating that low calorie diet forever, and make it a lifestyle, but thats called anorexia and is very unhealthy.
  • Yes I agree, and I admit I was wrong about that, but for an understandable reason. Metabolic rate slows I get it, but also am I not somewhat correct? If the amount of calories needed is lowered to prevent starvation would the body not start to store fat when returning to a normal diet? Its not like it reacts that fast.…
  • Starvation Mode Basics: "Your body is equipped with its own starvation defense mechanism, which has evolved over millions of years to protect you during times when food was scarce -- a problem most people don't have today. When you take in too few calories to support activity and normal physiological functioning, your body…
  • I forgot to add that I also have been over shooting my calories everyday and trying my hardest to meet all my nutritional goals. Some days I will go over my calories by as much as 300-400, but I also work out for an hour or two a day. The results are insane. I weigh 255 lbs, and with what I am doing currently MFP is saying…
