I've been dealing with anxiety/depression and I pretty much just walk for exercise. I used to listen to podcasts, a pleasant way to keep me distracted. But for the last few months, I've been going radio silent and it's been a really great way to clear my head first thing in the morning. Feel free to add me, if you'd like.…

Yeah, I figured.

Feel free to add me. I'm 5'3" too and after two months of logging here, I'm about 20lbs into a hopeful 100lb loss. MFP has been way more beneficial and motivating than I really could have imagined, when I downloaded the app.

It took me just about two months exactly to lose 20lbs. I made a few changes to my diet (more protein, less beer, actually eat breakfast) but what really made the difference was going from more-or-less completely sedentary to walking 1-2 hours a day. My starting weight was 237, so I definitely had some fat ready and…

SKYRIM BELONGS TO THE NORDS NERDS!

The best advice I could give is to celebrate the little things. I can get pretty impatient sometimes, so it helped to be able to step back and find an accomplishment worth celebrating. Lost an inch from my hips? Hell yeah. Worked out twice as long as I did last week? Niiice. Ordered the healthiest option at a restaurant…

You worked out, you stayed within your calorie goal AND you still got to eat some ridiculously yummy food. I'd say you definitely passed, with flying colors.

I would be so down for this, but the Great American Beer Fest is this month and it's the only time of year I get to try all sorts of crazy, rare stuff. Maybe next time, for Sober October! (Octsober?)

A friend of mine keeps her favourite treats tucked away in a cabinet that requires a step ladder to get to. If she wants to indulge herself, she has to work for it. She has to grab the step ladder from downstairs, drag it up stairs, then climb it. A lot of times, the inconvenience of having to do that conquers that urge…

San Gabriel Valley here, ultimately trying to drop ~100lbs too. Feel free to add me!

I'm a big fan of craft beer, so it's been kind of tough getting an exact calorie count, but I always log what I drink. It helps that my local pub is a convenient mile from my house. The walk there and back seems to burn off at least a solid pint. :D

I tend to weigh nearly every day, simply out of curiosity. But I only log about once/twice a week, under the same conditions every time.

I suffer from anxiety, panic attacks, depression and all that fun stuff. I only just recently started this whole diet/exercise thingy, so it's been a bit of a struggle to find a balance, between mental well-being and physical well-being. What's really helped is that my daily walks to watch the sun rise over the hills is…

If I grab something at a deli, I'll tend to lean toward whole wheat, turkey, a bit of cheese and whatever veggies I can cram in there, like lettuce, onions, roasted peppers. The sodium can be kind of ridiculous, but if you avoid stuff like mayo and oil, you can keep it pretty low fat. Some delis also have the option of…

I'm sort of in a similar situation and I'd love to keep up with you!

I also built myself up from short walks to walking every day for two hours. I don't push it too hard, keep to about the same distance of 6-7 miles and it's been really great so far. I'mma add you!

A quesadilla filled with black beans, green chiles, onion, spinach with just a sprinkling of 2% Monterey Jack. I could eat this for daaaaays. Even my husband who isn't watching his diet/exercise was totally down with it and asked me to make them again. SCORE!

That's great. Less stress, less calories! It's amazing how just making a change like this can completely brighten up all sorts of corners of your life. Good luck!

Hahaha! I only just moved to LA from Colorado, too. Half of the people I tell that to immediately start talking about weed.

Check out the USAF Fitness Test requirements for females under 30. If you can manage to score over 75 points before basic training, that's a really good place to start. The run is 1.5 miles, timed.

I agree. Also, checking out all the amazing architecture! Old historical neighborhoods are incredible.

Some slivered almonds and figs in plain Greek yogurt = awwww yeah

I'd love to have a few more people to keep me motivated in my life!

Hey, I'm sort of in a similar situation. Feel free to add me as a friend! I'd love to keep up with your journey.
