I love it. I read in the fitbit forum on here several times that you should enable negative calories. I really didn't want to do it, but i did about a couple months ago and it's helped a lot. For me, I really only have time to add a longer walk between class and work, take the stairs, and use breaks to walk around instead…

When I first started, I set it to sedentary and lose 1lb per week. I wasn't hungry all the time - I'm actually rarely hungry, my trigger is feeling tired and having no energy, if I'm not planning and scheduling my meals - but after a month I had lost about 10 lbs and felt incredibly awful. I increased it to lightly active…

I'm not on birth control and I've noticed I'm about 2 lb heavier for a few days of the month. It catches me off guard and then I remember this happened last month. Hormones are weird. Birth control can increase breast size and those weigh a lot, so there's that. I would say just keep at it and don't stress it too much.…

I love fruit. I eat several small naval oranges and at least two packages of blackberries every week. Usually some bananas and blueberries also. I don't worry about sugar, just my total calorie figure, and I kind of keep an eye on my overall macro balance.

I crave soda when I'm thirsty and when I'm stressed. After 8 months, I'm finally learning that I need water when I want soda. I guess for too long I only drank soda for thirst and got my signals confused. When I'm terrifically stressed, like working through a bad headache on hour 15 of the day, that's my emotional…

Not sauce exactly, but I had a recipe call for herbes de provence recently (it's a French spice blend, Provençe being a region in France), and it was really really good. http://www.recipe.com/chicken-spiced-apples/

It won't affect your body, but it could affect your mind. I have lunch every day with a co-worker who is on a really restrictive diet where she eats exactly the same thing every single day, and has for about six months. She looks great, but she experiences different temptations than I do. Today she was on her phone and she…

I do a lot of guestimating local restaurant food too. 860 sounds reasonable-ish, although the cheese is getting a bit of a side eye from me. Cheese generally is usually about 100-120 per tablespoon (there's 8 in half a cup, and a tablespoon is often roughly equivalent to an ounce for many brands). I eat fries, I'll have to…

I don't "meal prep" in the ordinary sense. I cook a meal, that generally has four servings, pack up three of them in individual servings in the fridge and eat the fourth. I plan this ahead of time using pepperplate.com and my local grocery store chain's grocery list, including figuring out which days of the week I'll have…

I had a few days a couple weeks ago where I couldn't convince myself to eat at all. The last few I want to eat all the things. Bodies are weird. :) If you aren't having trouble losing, I wouldn't worry about it. I haven't formally tracked it, but I'm fairly sure my appetite fluctuations are timed closely with my cycle,…

I am the apparently of fat person who forgets to eat. The problem with that is I can go a day or more before my body screams loud enough to get my attention, so then I'm tired and have no energy, so I just get fast food...And it snowballs. So personally I find planning key. I plan breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks…

If you have access to a slanted bench (like it's higher at one end), you can do crunches or full situps while holding a weight (one of those round ones) against your chest. I always loved what was basically the reverse - a higher bench that let you lay prone and go down into an upside down sitting position and then back…

I do a morning snack and an afternoon snack every day, pretty much. Mornings it's almost always some kind of protein type bar. Currently I am really liking Clif Bars, but there are tons out there (and Clif Bars are kind of high in calories, for a snack). For the afternoon snack, I mix it up a lot. I usually try to get some…

I definitely understand the struggle, even if mine might be different from yours. I think of it as that a great deal of my considerable internal fortitude is wrapped up in just staying alive, just breathing and getting up and going to bed and eating (anything). When I don't have the resources to do what apparently is…

If I'm seriously under, like by 750+ calories, I might try to find something reasonable to fill in a bit, mostly so I don't feel bad the next day. Otherwise, yeah, just take it as free calories you didn't have to eat to feel happy or satisfied. :)

I haven't been able to peg it to my cycle precisely, but yes, I have days where I'm hungry all day and other days when I'm not. I try to fill in low calorie fresh vegetables and other things that are filling without being high calorie on those days. Don't feel like a failure! It's a new lifestyle and will take a while.

My steps are showing up in my diary on MFP now, and my calories on FitBit, but I'm not getting any adjustments either way for the steps on MFP. So that's a little weird, and I'm at a middle ground area where I think I would have a few added calories but I can't really remember for sure. Oh well, I've got extra calories…

I can't speak to caffeine - something about my system makes the stuff not work on me, for good or ill. I have a completely emotional addiction to soda. The more stressed I am, the harder I crave it, to the point that on the busiest day of the year at about hour 12 of working I can't think about anything else. I've found…

I'm at 1800 for my goal with loss set at 1lb per week. Feel free to add me. My diary is open and I have a lot of custom recipes saved. I sometimes eat more than 1800 in a day but usually come under the weekly average and I'm losing. When I first started I under estimated my activity level - I work in an office at a desk,…

1000 extra calories does sound like a lot. Maybe you should bump up your MFP activity level? I had mine set too low and it made every really strange. Now I only get adjustments if I seriously try and at the most about 400 calories after 5 miles.

I've felt that way, but from depression rather than chronic fatigue. I got started in losing weight for the first time in my life after changing meds and feeling like I had energy and brain space to deal with life. I don't have any answers, but I know it's hard. :/ From what I've read weight loss generally requires eating…

Before you get to the point of toxicity, you can also drink enough water fast enough that it can cause heart burn. I had to cut back a little, because that happened to me and really surprised me. I was drinking 4-5 20oz bottles in 8 hours, though. I know someone who grew up in a very conservative religious sect without…

I work full time and go to school 3/4 time. When semesters end, I'm sometimes "bored" in the evenings because of the abrupt cessation of being excessively busy, where every moment had multiple things I need to be doing. I also find that sometimes when I'm stressed or unhappy I will be "bored" in the sense that I don't want…

I eat out a lot, because I have weekly meetups with friends. Definitely looking ahead of time is good. I've found after a few months of that, I can pretty much look at a menu and pick out the things I could reasonably eat and I know the pitfalls - the bread or chips a lot of places bring you, brownie sundaes which are a…

I agree on the 90% figure. I don't have it set on sensitive. I often sleep more like 85%, and there's a marked difference in how I feel when I get 90% and at least 6 hours. I also agree that it's a bit frustrating, as there's not a lot I can do about sleep that I'm not already doing as a lifelong insomniac. I don't check…

I don't sit still while watching television either. I usually play games on my phone or crochet. I second the water suggestion, especially if you have trouble drinking enough water. You can always put some cut fruit or a few drops of lemon juice in it so it's not quite as plain. A somewhat more drastic solution for an oral…

From what I've heard and read, AA actually has a rather abysmal track record of actually working. So personally I while I celebrate with anyone it works for, I don't think if it as the only way forward.

I don't have that much trouble with eating out - southern culture can be a problem, when the other person keeps asking if you're sure you don't want anymore - but I can save 600-800 calories pretty easily and I get full on that. The hard thing about dating now is that I plan to look a lot different in a year or so, so it…

I've never liked peanut butter, though I grew up with peanut butter and jelly ("PBJ") sandwiches and boxed macaroni and cheese like most American kids. What I think is more bizarre than the sandwiches and chocolate and peanut butter candy, is putting peanut butter on all kinds of crazy things it obviously doesn't belong…

There's also clothes. I have occasionally stepped on the scale after getting into street clothes and shoes and without having eaten or drunk anything I'll be 2-3 pounds heavier. And on Saturdays when I sleep in (I weigh first thing when I get up, in my pajamas, every day) I usually weigh at least a pound, sometimes more,…
