I am also back after a disappearance that went on much longer than it should have. Looking on the bright side, I am more aware than ever of how much better I feel when I follow the Beck strategies.

I let days go by without reading my response cards,even though they are saved on my phone. I will set up a reminder tonight, and that will, hopefully, keep me on track.

I suggest reading "the Beck Diet Solution" by Judith Beck. It is not a diet plan, but a step by step process that helps you learn to think about your eating behaviours and make the necessary changes.

Every week, I make a soup and a casserole or stew (love my slo- cooker!). I eat it fresh on the night, and freeze the remainder in containers that hold 2 servings. It does not take long to build up a stock of ready-to-go meals to take in to work for lunch or to grab on those nights when life gets crazy and you get home too…

At work, any eating (apart from my scheduled lunch break) is done on the run. My brain does not even register that I've eaten and this has a huge impact on me. I do much better on 3 mindful meals a day.

I agree that sitting down to eat really does make you more mindful of what you are putting in your mouth.

The Beck Diet Solution helped me lose 30 pounds, all of which crept back on as I let the routine slide. Last week I picked up the book and began reading it again.
