  • Hi! I avoid gluten and sugar, too... so I feel your pain. We make tacos all the time in lettuce cups! Add red onion, avocado, cilantro - maybe forego the salsa for now. If you're dealing with autoimmune problems, it's probably best to avoid nightshades as they are known to cause inflammation. However if your doctor gave…

  • thank you for your reddit-style summary at the bottom. :) I also recently discovered the app - it's made me super excited about the weight I've lost and will lose because it keeps me on track. Good luck!
  • Washington, DC!
  • You can do it! 60 pounds is totally manageable and it'll be gone before you know it as long as you take it one day at a time. Excited to see your progress!
  • No matter what anyone tells you, PCOS is a huge contributor to your weight. I only say that because I believe I saw someone up above say it wasn't your PCOS, and that just seems silly. I have NO other issues other than PCOS (healthy thyroid, blood pressure, no depression - believe me, I'd had every test known to man) and…
  • 150 from 200. I've lost 13, 27 more to go!
  • We have your back! So sorry for the loss of your father. Losing people you love makes every other battle we face seem trivial, but now it's time to fight for you. You can do it and I'm excited to see you at the end!
  • Also, be careful with chemicals in food. For PCOS, our bodies respond severely to chemicals, preservatives, pesticides, etc. They're endocrine disruptors and make PCOS symptoms worse.
  • Hi! I am so happy to see your post. I have PCOS as well and maintain an intake of 60-70 grams of carbs per day. For the sake of your happiness and your life, you need carbs! Sustainable weight loss happens best when you develop a rhythm that you are comfortable with, including finding a balance eating the foods you want,…

  • You will get a lot of people who knock paleo, but for me and my body type, it works best. I take more of a primal approach and include some dairy. If you need support, I'm all ears! You can do it.

  • Yes! I need motivator friends, too. :)
  • I ONLY have a picture because I wanted everyone to know that the waffle I ate was delicious...
  • Yay! I did a "Dry July" and honestly, 5-6 pounds just fell off. I drank vodka sodas a little too regularly... and my husband and I found that drinking La Croix sparkling waters with lime were SUCH a good substitute to get us through. Congrats and see you on the other side!
  • This is a perfect example as to why people are so afraid to ask for help. I don't understand why everyone is being so rude toward OP. Even if you disagree with someone, have the decency to be respectful. He comes from a home where it sounds like the wife usually cooks dinner. It doesn't make him a jerk nor does it make his…
  • A lot of it has to do with life experience and fully developing emotionally. As children, most of us (not all) are happy, regardless of size, color or orientation. Our mental scope is more narrow. As we age, we develop many new (or well-hidden) insecurities that just weren't there before because life taught us to be more…
  • Definitely a friend... but a distant friend. One I call maybe once or twice a month to fill in on my life. ;) I have an endocrine disorder and carbs have to be chosen wisely for me or they're just stored as fat. My setup works really well for me health and wellness-wise so I don't see myself incorporating potatoes back…
  • Welcome and congrats on taking a big step toward wellness and happiness. :) it's always good to laugh a little during this process - makes it a whole lot easier!!
