I have done Zumba. It is fun, but I find if I do it too often, I get tendinitis in my knees. But I imagine most don't have that issue.

I'm a belly dancer. It's a lot of fun. World Dance New York and Cheek Girls Productions have good instructional DVDs. Pilates and Yoga are good activities to pair with belly dance for strength and flexibility.

I got a fitness tracker because I didn't trust the estimates on MFP. Mostly because my primary exercise has been belly dance, and it gives a flat number of calories for belly dance without regard for intensity.

I use a Fitbit that tracks heart rate and calculates burn based on that. I was told the trick is to wear it on your non-dominant wrist, but put it as dominant in the device settings, so it calculates a bit more conservatively.
