I'm from NI and run 5/10k. Booked for my first race in August and now decided that I can't wait that long, so entering another in May. Never dreamed that I would run and enjoy it!
-
I run 5ks 3 times a week and planning a 10 k in August. Feel free to add me

Got a pair of Karrimor from Sports Direct and a pair from Decathlon (kalenji,I think). Both were quite cheap and not see through!

We can all nag you until we are blue in the face but unless you want to exercise it would be pointless. I was sedentary and obese until, at 51 I felt I needed to take control of my life. I lost 73 lbs and started exercising. I can now run 10k and am doing Insanity and will get back to lifting when my shoulder injury heals.…

I'm starting insanity tomorrow and also run 5k twice a week and 10k once. I might need to adjust or shorten my runs but I'll see how it goes.
-
I'm a beginner, currently running 5ks and can run most of a 10k! Haven't had the courage yet to enter a race or even a park run but I'll get there... eventually! Anyone is welcome to add me

I've just ordered T25 and insanity second hand from cex UK as I couldn't afford the full price. Can't wait to get started!

I go to an outlet centre with a Nike shop ( great prices and choice). Got lovely tops from Sainsbury's Tu. I go to sports direct if I have to but they have a very poor selection of running gear for women esp if you don't like pink! Although I did get great winter leggings last year.

Habit, coffee and knowing that if I don't get up and workout then it won't get done later!

It will be worth it, my only regret with losing my weight was that I didn't do it years ago. You will get lots of great advice and support here. You can do this!

Fitness blender has good workouts for dumbbells but you will need a few different sized weights.
-
We all have plateaus from time to time. I know when I lost my weight that I sometimes I didn't lose anything for weeks then I lost 4 or 5 lbs in one week.

You will only lose weight by eating at a calorie deficit, it doesn't matter how much exercise you do. Weigh all your food and log everything you eat. You will lose the weight but it will take time and perseverance. Don't think about all the weight you still have to lose so you don't become disheartened break it down into 1…

Love running, walking, swimming and strength training esp lunges and squats Hate anything dance related like Zumba, I have no coordination!

I would suggest walking outside is better than jogging in place. I began my fitness journey by walking then adding short bursts of running ( didn't know then about c25k!). I understand how you feel because I used to go out early in the morning so no one would see me! Now, I couldn't give a toss what people think, I'm…

I tried working out in the evening but found there were too many distractions and I'd no energy. It was hard starting to get up early but now it's habit. Up at 6.30, cup of coffee and either run or home workout. Overnight oats for breakfast to save time.

Wow! You don't look like the same woman! Well done

Try fitness Blender online. Plenty of exercises to choose from using different equipment and lengths depending on how much time you have. And it's free!

My emojis cheering didn't show up!

Might be the only one here doing this

I know, i meant i want them to win the match and stop England getting the grand slam.

Ireland fan here. Hopefully we win

I was 51 when I started to lose weight and exercise. I've lost 73 lbs by eating at a deficit and weighing everything. I started working out at home with Jillian Michaels DVDs and then strong lifts. I've recently got into running and am hoping to run a 5 k in Feb. We are spring chickens compared to Charles Eugster, who I…

I started by walking with short (as in very very short!) Intervals of running and gradually building up the running. I'm in my 50s and can now run 3k and planning on a 5k in the spring. It's easy for some people to say "don't worry about what others think" but it can be difficult if you're overweight or lack confidence. I…

I haven't found a way to separate them. Just ignore them a eat within your original calorie amount.

I agree but it can be very difficult sometimes. My mum has said more about my body/face since I lost weight than when I was obese. It's worse when the comments come from family.
