135 is a long journey. Take it easy and enjoy the ride. It is amazing what you can eat and still losing weight. Keep track of everything you eat and exercise. Same old recipe

SW 230 August 2015 CW 195 GW 180 - 185 Keep walking.....

I think the best advice of all of the above is just trying what works for you. I would start with not eating back your exercise calories. Forget the exercise calories and see how this goes. Those days you are exercising a lot, since 1200 cal/day could be hard to keep when you are burning, try eating back 40% to 50% only.…

Religiously : 45 minutes intensive walk on weekdays. Jogging at least 45 minutes and/or walking 18 golf holes on weekends, every weekend. I may take a day off once in a while when I feel tired (tired and lazy are different things. Learn to differentiate). I should start doing some weights and other routines but I get bored…

That is fantastic, man! Even when you do not want to be an inspiration, you are!. That is 1.2 pounds/week. Very difficult to keep on the long term. Congrats! Could you share some of your numbers/facts? Food calories per day? What type of exercise? Key of your success (so far)? What is your ultimate goal? Thanks for…

Being there and feels amazing! Congratulations! Good job!

Ha Ha Ha.. And after that, "you need to gain some weight since you look too old now..."

Just send mine in. Hoping to be accepted at Hogwarts....

OH! I love this one...! Thanks Christine...!

I agree with DeguelloTex. I would not use FitBit to control my calories. It might be misleading. Use MFP, a nice food scale and count every calorie, never less that 1200/day. And if you want to push it harder, exercise and use the fit bit calorie number only as a reference for additional calories burned, and try not to eat…

if you want to accelerate your weight loss process, do not eat them. However it is nice to know you have them there in case you need them...

Hi Stacydool, those figures average 2.68 miles/day, way-way less than the average 4-5 miles/day.... We can do better..!!! Let's all move!! Go! Go! Go!

Using Fit Bit tracker (min 10,000 steps/day goal) and MFP max 1,800 calories a day : From Nov 1 thru Nov 9: 98,751 steps; 46.73 miles ; 24,232 calories burned, 3.2 pounds lost. Just walking, no running. 23 pounds lost since August 17 (12 weeks) . Walks pay off, no kidding. Give it a try....

This has happened to me in the past with changes in my exercise routines (water retention, increase in your muscle mass) . Check your measurements instead, they should have decreased. Most important: do not look back. Stay on track and pounds will go away again....

I feel your pain. Here 5'9", started @ 230 and lost 23 so far since August 17 , looking to get BELOW 200 (and stay there!! ). I am in if you want to share. But there are thousands like us and in my experience everybody is eager to help. So use the community. There are so many experiences, advice, stories that one can use!…

Great story! Thanks for sharing

You cannot control unless you measure and keep track. Weight your food, weight yourself, log on your food, control portions and calories, exercise at least 45 min/day and measure it. Measure it and keep track!

"The only way"??..... Sorry, there is not such thing.... You are correct, the ups and downs can occur on the day you choose to weigh, perhaps one week or so , but mostly if you weight near to the days when your deviations (in terms of calorie intake) are important (usually - again - usually, not always, weekends) . In the…

Great tip ! every calorie count, so let's use them wisely...! Thanks!

Houston here!

The good thing of weighting once a week and on the same day of the week is that you have a fixed reference from where to measure your real progress. You can have ups and downs from one day to the other and that might be discouraging (for instance from Saturday to Sunday to Monday...) What had worked for me: one day of the…

Thanks a lot!!

LOL... That's it..!

I haven't thought on dancing, but that definitely sounds like a lot of fun...!

Wow! thanks a lot to y'all for that great insight! Great tips and information. Some of you mentioned what to me is the big problem: eating out all the time. It is difficult to keep track of calories when you do not know how it was made. Too many hidden calories. However, I guess controlling portions, alcohol and walking a…

I do not see how you are going to lose weight with a 2900 cal plan unless you exercise a lot (don't be fooled by your daily work. That might not be a very active lifestyle despite what you think). However there is some information missing, like your age, how tall you are, gender, etc. As a reference, I am a man, 54, walk…

Welcome Maude... Take it easy, use the food tracker (as Yoda says), exercise with a purpose every day (Fitbit tied to MFP has worked great for me) and always, as Ralph Waldo Emerson used to say, "Moderation in all things, especially moderation.” . Happy Anniversary
