I was in Girona this summer and found labels similar to uk due to eu legislation.

Hummus is great with crackers as is peanut butter. Both are also great with raw carrot sticks ;-)

Weighing in metric is best for liquid and solids. 250ml of water weighs 250grs. This holds true with most thin liquids.

Thanks, I'm they same, just trying to find some vegetables to eat regularly that I enjoy (which is a small list!)

Such as shame, as I don't like most green vegetables; peas are the Devil's veg :) I guess I can still enjoy cabbage, kale etc if sautéed with garlic, ginger and chilli finished with a splash of soy. I certainly don't like the sound of kidney stones! BTW, I read last night that asparagus is as bad as spinach for purines...

No, the fish/chicken are stables of my diet, but I have been eating tons of proteins recently to aid weight training, avg 200+ grams a day. Protein derived from fat-free Greek yogurt, whey powder, fruit, nuts, seeds and protein bars (as well as the lean meat/fish and green veg) I'm trying to keep calories at 2000 per day…

Surprised me, especially as I've spent the last couple of weeks eating super clean and healthy. Feels a bit like a kick in the teeth :p

Thank you!

Why? I can understand vegetarianism but what is the point of veganism? Not trying to 'stir the pot', just interested!

i used to go 5/6 days a week to the gym but kept getting injured. Since I've started taking a rest day between workouts I've made better gains. I'm 49yrs old and generally do 30 mins cardio followed by one hour weights. due to a bad back I use mainly machines and dumbbells. i do 4 pyramid sets per machine, 12 reps, 10…

People in the gym who don't use a towel to wipe machines when they are finished; maddening!

I use a heart rate monitor to track calories burned (Polar RCX5) when in the gym for both weights and cardio. This method is more accurate, IMHO...

I starter 'Sober in October' on Monday, a few days early. Hoping to finally lose fat when combined with eating clean and weight training. I'm hoping to once again see my abs at the age of 49! :D

Try to eat as much fruit and salad as you can. Stay away from deep-fried food, and if it has to be fast food, go Asian; lots of rice, vegetables and lean meat. I'm a Catering Manager in Cambridge UK so I have plenty of practice advising students on good nutrition; good luck!

If you're using a heart-rate monitor, you can judge the rest time needed by the reduction time of your heart rate after lifting. When I lift heavy for 10-12 reps my heart rate can be as high as 160 bpm, which I allow to settle to 110-115 bpm before my next set. This allows for longer/shorter rest times based on load/reps…

Sorry, this was not intended as spam; I work for a charity (University of Cambridge in the UK) where our only customers are our students. I simply wanted to offer our menus as useful/helpful ideas for people cooking gluten free. I did not post a hyperlink and there is no commercial benefit for me or my employer if you look…

At work we have a selection of food called Simply Pembroke, which is free from 13 of the 14 most common allergens. What is left is clean, healthy and nutritious food. Our food blog 'Under Pressure at Pembroke' has all our daily menus so you can get some good ideas by viewing a few of the daily posts. I am the catering…

I agree with your definition, but would add that removing certain allergens from food (dairy, eggs, gluten, etc) is also beneficial as what is left is usually simple but healthy lean meat, fish and vegetables. All allergens are not bad, but eating less processed foods is key. BTW, I just tried Fage 0% Greek yogurt as part…
