  • Have you thought of taking up swimming or yoga?
  • To help with triggers and prevent a crisis, I use my WRAP book. It is really useful especially since I have memories issues. You can read about it: http://mentalhealthrecovery.com/
  • I would check out your local social services office and see if you can get a referral for free or low cost therapy. The amount of services provide varies from city to city but generally, if you live in a big city or near by one, they will have more resources and services available.
  • Bay Area, California. East Bay though, not San Francisco but I make trips up there whenever I can.
  • You could keep a picture of yourself at your fittest in a place where you will see it often. Putting one at the fridge door might help you think twice if tempted with idea of eating something with high calories. You could join a group exercise class like Zumba or maybe see if there is a local meetup for people to walk or…
  • Have you ever heard of the WRAP workbook? It has helped me keep track of staying well and what to do when triggered or having certain symptoms.
  • Well congrats on finding something that works for you. I did have a couple questions: Do you take good vs bad carbs into consideration or are all carbs part of the problem? Are you still looking for other solutions for the fibromyalgia in addition to the LCHF diet?
  • Do you have a support system outside of MFP? Or someone who is willing to make changes with you?
  • Thank you. :) I try to stay positive and remind myself of all the progress I have made.
  • I suffer from fibromyalgia and restless leg syndrome. I wish you luck on losing the weight. I know it isn't easy but hopefully you will find something that will work for you. Have you tried hot yoga? It worked wonders for me.
  • I am 24 years old and I also struggled with ED and binging. My goal is to lose 55 lbs and so far I lost 16. Feel free to add me.
  • I am very tired and dealing with very painful muscular pain and stiffness. I am also dealing with allergies which is really unusual. I'm itchy most of the time. I make sure to take hot showers to help loosen the muscles and joints. I am trying to work out but it is really hard.
  • Even though I had a lot of negative experiences, out of darkness came important insight and wisdom. Being LGBTQI has helped pull the "veil" and let me see truth and perspective. The clarity I got from my experiences helped me make a lot of difficult decisions but in the bigger picture, I have become a better version of me.
  • I'm going to start treatment for my physical disability. I am not into Holiday food that much except for a few things so I will be confident I will do well during Thanksgiving and all of December. I am hoping to be 163 lbs by the end of December.
  • Vegetarian mandu (Korean dumplings), Bibimbap, lettuce wraps with rice, tofu, black beans, and gochujang sauce, dotorimuk (acorn jelly) miso soup with tofu, vegetable rolls, vegetable stirfry, wonton soup, and much much more.
  • It is very difficult for me because my weight gain is due to the crippling illness that I have been battling. Unfortunately, East Asians have a black and white mentality and don't believe in my disability. Instead of seeing my weight as a consequence of having this illness, they think it is the cause of it. This belief has…
  • I am trans. I identity with both male and female in addition to the the third gender of other/non binary.
  • There are 5 and 10 minute workouts on Popsugar's youtube channel https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLI37FJmOtrj3UMfggcUzdkGsMHpVvhbkm
  • Welcome! I hope you reach your goal.
  • I'm vegetarian and not located in SF but in the East Bay.
  • I'm in the East Bay
  • I originally signed up and stopped a year ago under a different account. At that time, I wasn't in the position to focus and concentrate on my weight loss and dietary changes. I gained 55+ lbs because of illness. So far, I have lost 9 lbs. It has taken a lot of adjustments because I can't do most exercises. Using my mini…
  • I'm located in the East Bay too. I'm planning on taking advantage of the trails and lakes around here once I get my pair of skates.
  • I understand what it is like to live with intense pain. I have fibromyalgia. I use to be bedridden. I moved up to a wheelchair user, then to walking on my own. I have done MFP before but wasn't able to do much with it because of where I was at in life and the state of my body.
  • @shibumicd @BadgerFaced It is interesting to hear how weight gain can be helpful in relieving gender dysphoria. @notsosecretlytrans Have you thought of doing a gofundme page to help with costs? @ValleyDoll I feel one of the reasons why I am prone to anorexia is because of my gender dysphoria.
  • Try to make it fun. Think outside of the box and explore different kinds of exercise/activity. That way you can burn calories and shed pounds but also have your happy hormones going which might be helpful in curbing bad food choices. Perhaps joining a group class would help you feel supported and keep you motivated. If you…
  • It has been a difficult and long road. I did make difficult choices but many were worth it because I didn't end up where many other people I know ended up at. I am still doing a lot of work on myself and it is very exhausting at times. However, my eye is on the prize and I want to get better. I strive to be mindful at all…
  • Stress triggers include: not being able to fit into an outfit, mistreatment from family, people trying to police my food (I had this happen recently by an acquaintance), and gender dsyphoria. Physical triggers include: low glucose levels and hormonal changes because of my illness.
  • Did you find out that you suffer from anorexia from your own research or was it by a professional such as a doctor? The reason why I ask is because it might be helpful for you to have a third party involved in the healing process. I had anorexia when I was about 11 years old. I remember how alone and destroyed I felt. I…
  • We have some similarities. I have a chronic pain illness that rendered me bedridden and wheelchair bound for years. I use to be very active. Right now I am a size 14 in US sizes. I have gained 8 dress sizes since becoming ill. My goal is go back to being a size 5/6. I have symptoms that affect my weight and how much I eat.…
