Group Revival?
There aren't many people in this group and I think most members are not active. I am hoping more people will join but there is still stigma being a victim of crime. I wish this group would be locked since this is a very sensitive issue. In any case, I plan on posting here and hopefully it can help someone in need.

Anyone Working On Other Goals Besides Weight Loss?
So far I have lost 31 lbs. and I am happy that I lost that much weight but there are other goals I have been working on. I am trying to work on my organization skills. It is very difficult for me to keep track of things and be neat. My brain can't seem to grasp certain concepts. I still have difficulty reading, writing,…

Christmas surprise for my East Coast Friend
A couple days after Thanksgiving, I received an email from a friend who had recently moved back to the East Coast for college. He asked me how I was doing and how my Thanksgiving went. I told him how I had a rough start to my Thanksgiving as I was struggling with my gender dsyphoria caused by getting my menstrual cycle but…

Hormones Not Recommended
So, my doctor doesn't recommend HRT for me because of the risks of how it would impact the current treatment I am doing now. My doctor has a lot of empathy for my situation so this wasn't due to any anti-trans bias. I had a miniature meltdown with him on the phone. Sometimes I still pray (not in a religious way) that I…

Recipe Must or Bust
There a lot of recipes online and some of them end up as delicious as the pictures on the blog post. Others, not so much. Which recipes have you tried that were a hit and others a big miss? I tried sweet potato cookies from Paleomg and they were good. Very soft cookies with a sweetness that wasn't overpowering. A recent…

What's your favorite Paleo/Primal Snack or Treat? It can be store bought or homemade.
From the top of my head: Coco-roons for store bought (I only tried their brownie ones so far but I am in love), the chocolate almond and cinnamon "milk" at a juice cafe close by to where I intern, and homemade avocado chocolate pudding (easy and delicious).

Long Road
I am starting my new treatment and I have to make a lot of changes. I am going to try to go back to eat mostly traditional Korean food like I used to when I was growing up. I was told I would have to avoid certain ingredients which means I will have to try to make things from scratch as much as possible. I feel so…

LGBTQQIA East Asians
Are there any LGBTQQIA East Asians on here? It is really hard for me to meet LGBTQQIA East Asians in both real life and online (besides the married closeted people looking for affairs). I would like to find someone to chat with about how the culture has affected us as being a person in a bigger body and having an LGBTQQIA…

Not by choice
I wish I wasn't forced to becoming gluten free but my doctor gave me specific instructions for the food I am to consume. I noticed all the pseudo grains and grains listed said gluten free next to them. Honestly, I never saw myself going gluten free but it looks like my health issues have pushed me to this path. I do hope…

I admit I didn't want to let go
I heard pretty good things about a low carb diet but I admit, I was too dependent of wheat stuff because I used it to combat the fatigue symptoms I experience from my fibromyalgia and other health issues. My doctor put me on a diet to help with my liver and I thought I would be able to go back to all the food I was…

Winter Prep and Self Care
During winter, the cold and damp have a negative effect on my body. I take steps to make sure my body is taken care of to the best of my abilities and I don't fall into the blues from pain and anniversary dates. How does the winter and holidays affect your condition(s)?

Weight gain and dysphoria
My profile says female but I identify as transgender. I choose to go with my biological sex on the profile because I wasn't sure if putting male would have MFP miscalculate how many calories I need to burn. Male wouldn't have fit completely into my identity anyways but it would be more closer to how I identify. I do wish…

Exercises friendly to those who suffer from Chronic Pain
Before my disabilities became worse and I ended up bedridden, I use to do martial arts 5-6 days a week. Years later, I was able to walk on my own without the use of a wheelchair but I had gained weight from inactivity. I struggled to find what I could do to maintain my weight without it aggravating my conditions. I only…

Comeback and friends
I used to use MFP a year ago and found it helpful. I have started treatment for my disabilities and the results have been fantastic. Even though weight gain is a symptom and by product of my disabilities, I want to still have a healthy head start. I am committed to my health and wellbeing. I am driven and honest about my…
