I had a Fitbit Alta and loved it; especially the challenges with friends and over the years to correctly determine my TDEE. I currently have an Apple Watch and I am also quite happy with it although it’s focus is a little different from the Fitbit. One advantage that the Fitbit has over the Apple Watch is its easier to…

I read a post recently on Instagram from Syattfitness wherein was stated, “Being 100% on point with your nutrition isn’t perfect. It’s prison”. He also stated to hit your nutrition, 80%, rather than 100% so that you can go out and enjoy yourself. Review the restaurant menu ahead of time, skip the dessert and have a 6 oz…

Welcome to MFP; firstly change the word, “diet” to “lifestyle”. Secondly, don’t be too aggressive with your deficit; meaning choose to lose .50 to 1 pound per week. Don’t go below 1,200 net calories per day. The most important (in my opinion); purchase a digital food scale. There are also resources within the community;…

There is no substitute for chocolate:-). I love chocolate so I buy a small pack of three (3) Ferrero Rocher at a time. I usually have one (1) per day which amounts to 77 calories. This is a long term journey, so I have the deserts I like in small portions.

From 2010 - mid 2014; went from 194 to 146. From mid 2014 to 2015; went from 146 to 185. From 2016 to Present; 185 to 140s. I learnt from this experience that I need to keep tracking and weighing what I eat. In addition, “it’s easy to gain, but harder to lose” (in my experience).

If you have favourite “investment pieces” of clothing; consider getting them altered. In addition, certain pieces of clothing can be worn “oversized” such as some styles of sweaters. For the rest; goodwill, value village, and certain stores that provide a coupon if you bring in your old clothing for recycling. Letting go…

I’ve eaten Easter goodies that I love; Bun and cheese plus banana bread; all within maintenance. I am a consistent logger; so even with approximations for dinner; everything is logged. I weighed my bun because I had it at home and I had the Banana Bread at Starbucks so I used the listed calories; family dinner was…

In the app; enter the nutritional information for the salad kit and it will calculate the points; alternatively contact WW through “Chat”.

WW taught me portion control and how to plan for Events such as Trips and holidays and still be overall on plan. I was on the program for 4 years; no regrets.

Height - 5’2” SW - 186 (Highest weight;194) CW - 150 GW - 136 - 146 136 would get me out of the “overweight bmi”; but I’ll be happy in the 140s.

1. Food Scale 2. Gym/Fitness subscriptions 3. Fitbit/Apple Watch

Include avocado in your dinner/supper and snack on some nuts.

Firstly, this is long term process and changes won’t happen over night so you have to be patient. 1. Use the target given by FitnessPal based on .5 or 1 per week. 2. Eat foods you love within your target. 3. Use your food scale at all times. 4. Block out news of the latest diet fad; they lead to confusion. 5. Make one meal…

Consider eating the calories for maintenance at sedentary level for two weeks with your same level and intensity of exercise; if you have a loss each week, that would be your approximate deficit.
-
I think you could eat up to your maintenance calories on those days; the week should end up being an overall loss✨

I enjoy Group Exercise classes; but in my experience my level of enjoyment is based on the Instructor. Usually the best Instructors have a “following”; their classes are always full. A good class usually has good music, an Instructor with great cueing abilities and a good personality✨

It’s a good program, especially the meetings. The digital only option is logging of points similar to logging calories; but I prefer logging calories. But saying that; weight watchers began my journey to fitness and awareness of portion control and better nutrition✨

I’ve had The Fitbit Alta for two (2) years and I find it fairly accurate. Mine is without HR; the Fitbit Alta HR is $199 CDN which is approximately $155 USD✨
