My sister’s partner came down from the ranch with a box of goodies. I got last pick Cuz I was the slacker (all of the figs and peaches were eaten out of hand!) but these peppers are straight CANDY. The funny wrinkley longer ones. I forget what kind they are. He said we should give them a light char. They’ll never survive…

Cabbagettes!! New to me!! 😍

Sweet potatoes. Steamed purple ones. Cannot. Get. Enough. Also: Chile/spicy crunchy garlic sauce from ranch99. Fresh coconut. Kirkland brand chocolate chip cookie dough bars. Still :(

I like to Spiralize on the thinnest not-really-a-noodle setting, and toss in flavorful broth. Makes a decent rice noodle sub and soaks up flavors well.

Not sexy but it’ll do.

My fave way to recipe... very approximately!

My little brother is dog sitting and sent me the cutest text asking if he could eat my giant watermelon. My pandemic garden results have been mostly misses.. but he reports it is good! So happy. That would have been a huge amount of suck.

I love chilled soups, yum! I vote Yes to a swirl of yogurt- especially if to complement spicy.

All the things, shaved fin, including a pink lady apple and some gifted herbs tiny tomatoes and beautiful cucumber. Added some really nice Parmesan and a pumpkin seed blend. Ginger white balsamic vinegar, drizzle of olive oil, poached eggs.

@mtaratoot Ive not had many smoked produce items but I’d venture to guess that these would be decent: -corn on the cob -rutabagas, turnips, parsnips -mushrooms (hearty ones) -romaine (it’s great grilled) -green cabbage wedges -broccoli -pears, peaches - pineapple

Any recipe you suggest? In general I appreciate your flavor profiles and this looks amazeballs. What brand? And is it huge? Looking to find one not too crazy huge and with decent longevity as I’ll look to buy used (still trying to avoid buying new kitchen tomfoolery.)

The last time you posted about tomatoes I got all grumpy about my relationship with store tomatoes, then later laughed at myself - I’d forgotten you don’t live in the US. The produce (and general food standards) in Europe is in general so far superior to what passes as legal for US conventional agriculture standards... so…

Toldja. Lazy plain. And delish

Laughing about the zucchini. Neighbor gave me a giant one, and dang was it woody. Even mandolin sliced, totally not worth chewing. I’m sorta into the tiny baby ones occasionally, but the whole zoodle thing has always felt to me like some clever chef at cuisinart is laughing all the way to the bank and the rest of us are…

So jealous!

Yesssss. My whole garden croaked. Too hot. Also poor soul and a vengeful 🐿

Tonight. Finally made pretty food. Butter lettuce, watermelon radish, roasted warm cauli, herbs (cilantro, mint) crescents of deseeded Persian cucumber. Miso dressing, the one I guilty pleasure. Weird oils in it. Seed crunch stuff. Capers. Then unceremoniously dumped a tub of cottage cheese on it. Cottage cheese is many…

You know what? Ignore me. MFP app isn’t recognizing me and letting me edit. And I’m grumpy and tired and clearly trigger happy. Apologies. Carry on.

These are beautiful. I’m produce grumpy lately because my soil and conditions are awful. Even my homegrown stuff is struggling to just survive this heat.

Hi. Wrong thread! This is uniting over produce. Not dividing. Go check out the appropriate forums for debate. Thanks!

Recent weird but good salad worth pausing to capture:)

I actually do a hybrid. Wrapped in lightweight towel. Then stored in a regular gallon zip bag. Re-used a bunch. They are hard to kill.

Love this!

All produce appreciation welcome :) I’m in this for the inspo, the colorful pics and ingenious use of emoji alike... the pro tips, the savagely creative upcycling of food ‘waste’ and the friendly banter. I could google or read food blogs, but I trust y’all to be my eyes on the street. I can’t read the whole webternet. I…

Disagree with the ‘not that much’ part. My opinion is that tomatoes have such a high risk of sucking, being mealy, looking like tomatoes but not tasting like them.... They are like apricots. Eat off the tree or vine, or buy from a farm stand on location where grown, or... I’m not bothering. They don’t transport worth a…

Zucchini ribbon disaster-mash-up salad thing.

Must get kohlrabi now. ;) Big old mess of awesome. Spring mix, all the herbs, murakami sweet potato, preserved lemon (below), fermented pork sausage, crispy fried shallots. Ginger miso dressing (red shell. Bottled. Too sweet but dang close to right when lazy.) Silly pic - finally ready!

I do a carpaccio style, when not on ‘mandolin restriction’ But the master says... https://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/jul/10/kohlrabi-recipes-yotam-ottolenghi-salad-curry-kimchi-fried

Finally saw Baugna Cauda in a good mag the other day and smiled. You all keep me feeling well versed:) Love the almost-summer color in these pics!
