Yes, but like others above very different intensities... Least = an 'active rest' day of just 10-15k steps. Most = a long 10+ mile hike, or a yoga class followed by Zumba or UrbanKick. Medium = yoga or free weights plus some walking. The rotation seems to solve any little orthopedic glitches as they arise.

I third the salad suggestion. My family's favorite winter salad is mixed greens, avocado slices & pink grapefruit sections in a quick homemade Dijon vinaigrette. My daughters inherited the bitter flavor receptors!
-
I absolutely LOVE the bitterness. Mmmmm. Have loved pink grapefruit since I was a little girl. Adding sugar would be an abomination!

I get that kind of variance because I live in an old house with an imperfect wood floor & floor joists. I often scoot my scale around 'shopping'for that mornings lowest possible weight. LOL (I'm the worst, I know...) If it starts to be so unavoidable you feel it can't be trusted, change your battery first, then consider…

@stevencloser Thank you for that. Poetic justice.

Gawd! I was the same way. With the shoulders. I loved the 80s because I could always find jackets that fit. The oughts were hard. All those tiny shrunken cropped jackets. When I shopped for 'career wear' at Ann Taylor in the eighties I wore a two in skirts (equivalent to today's size zero) and bought size 8 jackets for…

I agree that maintenance eating is not 'starving' yourself. It's a little tricky but you can master it. And there's no one single way to lose weight. You might be happier losing one pound of mostly fat a month for the next two years. You might be happiest at a BMI of 27 rather than 25. There's no single 'right' answer. I…

There's an ee Cummings quote that seems appropriate here: 'I would rather learn from one bird how to sing, than teach ten thousand stars how not to dance.' Find YOUR joy, OP, and let the step counters happily keep stepping and counting.

Lame excuses are bad. Skeleton sizes vary. Let's call it a day!

Wow! Just wow! What an angry thread. I think you've demonstrated to yourself that the vast majority of MFP users agree to disagree with you OP & there's not much more that can be said. I think step counting is to fitness like so called 'gateway drugs' are to substance abuse: it often ignites a desire to do and experience…

eggs•cheese•tater tots•turkey chorizo•you're welcome!

This has been really helpful! @PAV8888 thank you for all that analysis @Christine_72 too soon to tell, but I think it's believable. I'm really trying to streamline things. If I burn 1200 calories by noon according to the HR, I know I'll burn 2400 or better by midnight and then I can just relax and plan to eat 1800-2000…

Thanks for that answer! It was very informative!

There's so much to unpack here it's hard to know where to begin... First of all, how is it ever 'not worth it' to reduce the strain on ones heart & joints, avoid blood sugar imbalance or hypertension, move more freely, and be more fit overall? Secondly, just because you personally don't 'love' your natural body type…

Today my Fitbit HR told me I burned 2864. I walked over 19k steps and lifted weights for 30+ minutes. I hoped telling it I'm 1" shorter than I really am would help but now in worried...

haitch, you rock! Listen to her & rabbit, OP. It can take more time & finesse than when we were younger but it can be done. Also, I'm now done with menopause & feel it's all a little more responsive. Just stick with it.
-
I walk over 100k steps a week. My cut shapely legs laugh at your reservations sweetie.
-
Fitbit gives me a seven day average weight. I use that one until the next week.
-
There was just a new study out on this. Yes, some muscle creation can happen in this situation. Try googling it...
-
You probably just need different rhythms & routines for the weekend. Add a little structure. It's okay for the two to be different.
-
I use my aria's weekly average weight as my 'official' weight. Every week I take great glee in erasing the one highest weight for a six rather than seven day average. I look forward to doing this all week. Silly, but incredibly empowering too.

Also, 8 year olds will do almost anything for a teen!

Food, sleep, and a healthy sense of 'this too shall pass.' Have you considered a jr or sr high 'mothers helper'? They could come in for 2-3 hours after school & help you out without being a formal babysitter. Good for a kid looking for a small first job & also good for you.

Your colon cleans itself, be grateful.

Check your battery. Unless you've got a swollen limb or something that's just not possible.

You eat the same thing every day?

Fitbit Charge HR, Strong Lifts 5x5 app, MapMyWalk app, and Fitbit's app supporting both the Charge and my Aria scale.
-
When I started walking 100k steps a week I got mild leg DOMS; starting strong lifts 5x5 gave me major all over DOMS (and with basically an empty 18 lb weight bar! LOL)... today I did a 14 mile hike with climbing equivalent to 175 flights of stairs according to my Fitbit & I can feel the telltale stiffening beginning. I…

Will do!
