Here's tonight's dinner! Sorry for the harsh lighting... Turkey taco salad. Mmm. The avos are kind of hard to see amidst all the other veg. Ground turkey with spices, homemade Mexican mayacoba beans, some cheddar, oven baked tortilla chips and a creamy cilantro and tomatillo ranch dressing I make from scratch.

Yes! I eat them almost every day. My mother always told every one to feed their babies avos... It was my first solid food.
-
I love the pup pics too!
-
Best of luck with that. I'm sure they've encountered this before...

I'm diversifying & December has some travel/scheduling glitches, so I'll post in here! My December goal is to walk my usual 100k steps a week, complete at least 10 hours of yoga practice, dance at least 5 hours in Zumba or UrbanKick, complete all the body weight challenges in the Hogwarts thread, and fit in 2+ hours of…

I don't think any of us can really know yet... I came into this willing to log for 100 weeks. I divide my efforts into 10 week segments & I'm planning to complete 10 of them in order to see where this lifestyle might take me. I don't look beyond that at this point. Sometimes I read the maintenance threads for tips &…

Great job everyone! See you all in the December thread!

94456 steps last week... Fell short of 100k steps :-( Disappointed in myself! 40.85 miles. 10922 steps today, 4.7 miles I'll be back with my monthly total...

Yes, wholehearted self acceptance might feel strange at first when we're out of practice, but soon you'll see... it works like a magical 'get out of jail free' card and cross pollinates our happiness in so many areas of life!

Cool beans!

Just do your best. A life without a little travel would be a boring life indeed. Make sure you have access to simple things like water & fresh fruit. It's okay to create your own travel plan. On our recent road trip with high mileage my husband & I just eliminated 'lunch' altogether to save both time & calories! We hiked…

My 'motivation' is all over the map! Motivation can be so closely tied to our emotions... What works for me are bullet proof, iron clad routines and commitments that I do my best to fulfill no matter how I'm feeling at any particular moment. And whenever I screw up I try to laugh at myself kind of like I would if I slipped…

I concur... You've got to just be you! There's no 'spot' reducing and how much visible muscle we lay down is somewhat genetically determined. I have beautiful legs for days that can still fool UPS men half my age into sneaking a second look, but even as a teenage borderline-anorexic my upper arms were always just a hair…

Wow! Tell us all about it as you use it. I really think I might want one...

Hahaha! We need to seize inspiration wherever we find it!!

Yay! Just saw that new thread. Thanks much for getting it going.

Great photo! Love those earnest little labbie faces with their furrowed brows...

Thank you Alpha! I'll be here!! xoxoL

Very true! And it kind of puts slower weight loss rates in perspective, too, doesn't it? Even if you do something like MFP realistically (eg, not always perfectly) & average just a half pound a week loss which you then sustain beyond that year, youre worlds ahead of the folks who try to lose an insane amount quickly, drop…

But despite this I LURVE my Aria. It is so accurate! My old scale used to bounce up & down which I thought was just normal fluctuation. With Aria that range in any 24 hour period has tightened down to about 18 oz in either direction.
-
There's an old thread all about this. The sensors shoot to the hipline; a male/female extrapolation metric calculates the rest. Try telling Aria you're a dude, and see what happens. Some women with leaner lower bodies & broader shoulders get a 'better' reading but even that isn't truly accurate. I like the visual aids for…

Yes, that nasty self talk & all or nothing thinking is going to hurt your permanent weight loss prospects far more than a few hundred calories one way or the other. You need to treat your sweet self with kindness, compassion and dignity! We ALL go over & have bad days; the most successful among us dust ourselves off & move…

This!! I started out losing one pound a week, then as I added activities & upped my protein the weight loss accelerated to two. I'm on mini-maintenance right now because of a road trip & thanksgiving. When I start again I'm going to try to get back to just one pound a week. My skin feels snugger when I go more slowly. I…
-
I try to get 100g of protein every day. That's my lean body mass x .8. I feel like much more than that is probably a waste. The percentage varies depending on total day's calories.

This is one I had on the road recently. Huevos Divorciados in Dallas... Mmmmm

15798 steps yesterday; 6.8 miles... Mostly neighborhood walking.

Not really a 'binge' drinker here but definitely had some binge-y weeks with multiple drinks over multiple nights... Impact is not lasting, but the bloat that ensues can take 3-5 days to work its way out of my system. Then it's as if it never even happened.

I think you can become a solid performer thru practice & dedication, and a stellar coach, but it is absolutely true that elite athletes generally have a certain 'sumpin sumpin' with which they are just born! I'm a slow runner who married a fast runner, from a family of gifted athletes (FIL was a pro basketball player) and…

Also: when 'people' look at us, they are rarely thinking anything about us. Period. We are all remarkably self absorbed in this way, and tend to focus on our own problems. Rewrite that script in your head. This is not about what 'other people' might (however unlikely) possibly think. This is by you, for you, about you. Get…
