  • janetay01 - great self control with a dinner out!
  • Cari, Best wishes for you mom and trip!
  • janetay01 welcome, these people and this post have kept me going and pulled me back to mfp a few times - so thankful for you all. gethntysear - love fitting into smaller clothes! Great accomplishment. tazzy2911 - your workouts sound fun! I've been doing body weight stuff at home. My goal is to be able to do burpees! I love…
  • jaynee7283 what a great accomplishment. You are moving in the right direction. Very motivating! SusanConway333 that is great news about your health. Great advice from the other gals about surviving birthdays! I've stalled out in March. Haven't lost or gained. I've been eating too much of the wrong foods, not enough of the…
  • Started the day off with a short yoga routine and a few minutes of meditation. Going to aim to do this every morning. Bluepoppies777, I love your posts on positive thinking, I've never said "I'm going to lose weight this week" to myself, but I'm trying that for sure! :) MaryKayPedersen, I found purchasing a fit bit or some…
  • @ngolden3320 Strength training won't burn as many calories during the workout, but will actually up your metabolism over the next few hours and you'll continue to burn calories after the workout. Same thing goes with short and intense exercise (HIIT, Tabata are examples). Great work!
  • I concur, it is quite a challenge to not give into cravings, to stop at a certain calorie count, to get up and move when we don't feel like it, to not eat after dinner, etc. This is amazing to me when I think about how good we can actually feel when we do eat healthy and exercise! It is so simple, and so easy to forget.…
  • @bluepoppies777 - such a great attitude! My hubby and I reference our eating and exercise changes as our healthy lifestyle. It's for the long haul. And some celebrating and decadence enjoyed along the way is great - life is meant to be enjoyed. Thanks all for weighing in on the 1200 calories idea. Your support does make a…
  • I definitely strayed from a healthy lifestyle this weekend, eating a donut and drinking two nights. Fresh start Monday. I've had a small breakfast and plan for cauliflower soup and chicken sausage for dinner. Plus about 10 cups of water! I'm struggling a bit - I want faster weight loss, but I don't want to feel too…
  • Awesome! Great discipline!
  • LOL, same here about food in my face! I need to write out my reasons for weight loss and read them every day! Good luck.
  • What is 80/10/10? Are those your macros?
  • Excellent, I bet you feel so good! How long did you train for the 7k? We have a 5k we do every year in early May. Last year I could barely finish it walking. Since then I've lost around 20 pounds and I hope I can walk/jog it this year.
  • I'm Jill. Goals for the next 100 days, lose 15-20 pounds. Biggest challenge is exercising through recurring foot pain. I've never been in a challenge group before.
  • You are all so cheering! I'm Jill from Oregon. 34 years old, stay at home mom of a 5.5 year old and a 4 year old (boy and girl respectively). Weight has been a struggle on and off my whole life. At one point (before kids!) I was 145 pounds and running 10ks! Now I'm 226, but losing. I basically love to eat! So that poses a…
  • Great attitude. I'm new to this page and would love to join in. I have 70 pounds to lose, want to lose at least 40 by my vacation this September, but the weight is coming off so excruciatingly slow. And very small changes in measurements as well, only around .5 inches in a month. Not so sure what I'm doing wrong - I think…
  • The weight loss and getting healthy journey definitely has ups and downs. Let's keep going!
  • Last summer I was so uncomfortable and hot with my extra weight, not this year! Feel free to add me!
  • You might not be eating enough calories. I'd go for the 1200 so your body doesn't think it's starving. Lots of times when people start a new regime they lose a lot the first week and then it levels out; losing 1-3 pounds a week is recommended. Definitely hormone changes can impact what the scale says over the course of the…
  • It could be from too much salt, or just a fluctuation. I have had the same thing happen to me. Just keep going! I am losing very slowly, eating mostly unprocessed foods and doing body weight exercises (I do eat a little bread and some lower sugar nutrition bars here and there). One thing I just verified through ups and…
  • Thank you so much. I appreciate it!
  • I've been doing body weight moves like push ups, planks, squats, etc., and also lifting weights (8 pounds right now) in my living room. Motivation: As I lose weight I want to be toned, not overly flabby. There are a ton of workout ideas online/pinterest. Good luck!
  • I'm keeping to my allotted calories from mfp and exercising regularly. Have only lost 6 pounds since Jan 1. I was hoping to lose more like 2 or 3 pounds a week. To try to lose faster, I stopped eating back all of my exercise calories and aim for eating back about 50% of them. I took some body measurements and will see if…
  • Spirilizing zucchini and potatoes and cooking in some oil in a non-stick or cast iron pan is delish. Sprinkle with some salt/pepper or herbs, or any type of sauce. I almost prefer this to spaghetti and I feel lighter afterward, avoiding the carb coma! :)
  • Roast them! I broil the last couple of minutes to get some crunch/browning. Add them to soup.
  • When I started (again) on MFP on Jan 1 this year I was 235 and I'm 34. About 6 years ago (before kids) I was 145. I had worked on healthy eating and lots of exercise to get to that point and it will take time to get back to a healthy weight. Because the next few months will go by whether you work out or not. Make them…
  • I'm aiming to lose 60 pounds by the end of September for a family vacation to Hawaii. I live in Oregon, USA.
