I really appreciate the feedback. I still feel really new to running as a hobby and I think my plan is to complete these 9 weeks then try to run 30-40 minute runs 2 to 3 week days a week and a longer run (10k) on either Saturday or Sunday.

So I am using the active.com 5k to 10k app. Here is the plan. W1D1: 20 minute steady run. W1D2: 10 minute jog, 3 minute tempo run, 10 minute jog. W1D3: 30 minute steady run. W2D1: 20 minute steady run. W2D2: 10 minute jog, alternate 2 minutes of fast runs and jogs 2 times, 8 minute steady run. W2D3: 35 minute steady run.…

I did week 6 day 2 today. I don't know if anyone else has/is using the Active.com app but it seems like you ought to have to run further than 27 minutes if you are going to get to a 10k by the end. I know I'm relatively slow but 2.5 miles feels short.

That's the worst. I'm so used to having my Fitbit on that when I don't have it and do a lot of steps I get ticked off.

I really want to encourage everyone on their weight loss journey. I've lost 60 pounds and started off wanting to lose 85 or so. It's taken me 6 months to come this far. It's really tempting for me to say I like the weight I am now and to not be as regimented in my efforts. For me I didn't "diet" but decided I wanted to eat…

I'll play along. I'm really trying to get 310,000 steps in in March.
-
That's awesome! I want to get to that point some day. 10k still feels like a long way to run. I did week 6 day 1 this morning.
-
I take the trash out more often than necessary and walk just a little further than my puppy wants to go. I park way far away from the front door in parking lots.

Week 5 day 2 in the books. I know I'm really slow but I'm excited for the first time I had a sub 11 minute pace. Ran 1.7 miles in 18 minutes.

Today I realized my mindset has changed and I'm happy to be in the best shape I've ever been in even though the scale isn't moving. Finding happiness in knowing that I am healthier and much more active than I was 6 months ago when I started this journey is so much more rewarding than letting the number on the scale define…

Week 5 day 1 in the books. A 15 minute run felt really short.

I must confess I've neglected the check ins. I'm using the Active 5k to 10k app. I start week 5 tomorrow. Week 4 day 3 was a 45 minute run and while not easy, it was much easier than I would have ever dreamed. I just think about how on September 1st I struggled to run 1 minute.
-
How good I'd become at multiplying by 60. Lol always counting down how many more seconds I have to go.
-
Believe it or not I actually found it funny. Some people judge and I know I run slow but I'm faster than those who don't go out at all.
-
People leave the strangest things on the side of the road. Seriously, one shoe? Guys get heckled too. One guy yelled at me "keep going fatty you can do it" It sucks to run by the donut shop at 6am. Had to change my route to avoid smelling that. That I'd learn to love to run.
-
I ran week 2 day 1 which is just a 20 minute run but it felt great to run outside even for that amount of time.
-
Just for today I'm going to walk away from the breakroom with all the Girl Scout cookies.
-
Thanks I will check that out.
-
I just started the 10k plan as well. I wish there was a daily check in thread for the bridge to 10k plan as I find checking in to help keep me accountable to my running.
-
incredible will power! I do great with my eating until people bring stuff into the office.
-
I want to consistently run 3-5 miles at least 3x's a week.
-
Just wanted to leave a note to encourage all of you on this journey. I just started the bridge to 10k program and if I can complete the couch to 5k program anyone can.

I accidentally bought a compression shirt when I bought a couple of dri-fit shirts. When I put it on this morning I was so happy with how I looked in it compared to how I would have prior to my journey. I still have a ways to go to make my ultimate goal but it's so nice to enjoy what I look like.
-
Every time I run I tell myself: "Quit when the timer is done not when you are done." So far I haven't had a run I stopped before the pre run goal time.
-
I'm glad to read I'm not the only one guilty of trying to act like I didn't eat it if I don't log it.
-
I got a fitbit for Christmas that I have to exchange for a smaller size because I've lost enough weight that I need a large not XL.
-
I can't believe it but today I did week 9 day 3. It took me 16 weeks as I had a minor injury setback but still when I started 1 minute was hard. Now I want to run as often as physically possible.
