Same. My weight gain has come on quickly, 20+ lbs in 6months. I didn't even weigh this much when I was pregnant and that bothers me a lot. I have to be very strict about eating 1300-1400 calories or I gain with no effort. It's almost borderline eating disorder because it truly is difficult to stay at this intake, as you…

I don't like the fat so I"m not going to eat it. \No worries. I'm not staying here. I can understand people giving me a reality check because you're right, I didn't get this way eating healthy ALL the time. But I do not appreciate the third degree. I think some want to see others succeed and others feel that because this…

I don't even know what you're talking about. I'm a new user (this is the welcome threat isn't it?) and I have no idea what "tracking sites" you are talking about!!!

SlightlyAnother topic... Do you ever deduct for trimming meat? Say you're eating a steak that weighs 8oz but then you trim off the visible fat and of course take out the bone. Do you do all that and then weigh the meat. Or draining the fat from ground beef? Does that deduct anything from calorie count? Then of course to my…

sooo. can you give me advice on how to portion out family sized cooking? It's obvious that I don't know how and to be completely honest I get what you are saying about the potatoes but that doesn't solve recipes. How do you determine calorie content of recipes? Even if you weigh each ingredient, as you all are suggesting,…

That's true. So a serving of chicken breast is not necessarily a whole chicken breast because our chickens are bred to be large. But if you go with the deck of cards size then clearly you can see the difference and cut the breast to size.

"Example: Today I had Chicken Jerky. One serving size is 6 pieces (28g), I took 3 pieces, so you'd assume that's 14g right? Wrong. It was 17. That added 10 extra calories" Ok, I guess this is part of my "issue" in understanding this and maybe I'm starting to see why you all don't understand me. I don't eat processed food…

There is a lot of back and forth here but I did address that already. I am a picker, a snacker, a mindless eater. The app has kept me accountable for that and I have not picked up a mindless snack in 2 weeks. I have not cheated at all. I'm quite sure I was snacking away 600-800 calories per day when you forget about that…

Thanks for the video. THAT was actually helpful. So the question I have further is if I'm looking at a package of oats, here in the USA there is a measuring serving size of 1/2 cup at 120 (I don't know if there is, I'm just using an example and don't feel like looking). There is also grams in parenthesis. So wouldn't it…

@derek... no I'm not part of any movement and I don't believe it either. I already said I want to lose weight because I'm feeling it in my joints, among other raesons. What I DID say is that medical doctors don't pay much attention for me because there is nothing for them to treat. High TSH? here's a pill. High aic? here's…

Maybe a visit with a nutritionist is in order then. I know my TSH is in line. I also know my a1c, glucose, and most other blood chemistry are normal. My LDL and HDH are normal but cholesterol is over the borderline high. Doctors don't usually pay much attention to me when I ask about weight loss, especially when I say I…

and honestly, it's not, not for everyone. Not for me. And you are indeed calling me a liar because you're saying I"m not being honest with myself. I am quite honest with myself. I got fat by mindless eating and snacking NOT by my meals. It was never by my meals. I have had to change very little in that regard. I've only,…

So what can I change, besides my outlook? I mean did you read the part where I exercise frequently and eat whole, unprocessed foods as a matter of lifestyle rather than "diet"? Adn sticking to 1400 calories (give or take the unweighed tomato). I came here for support because yes I'm frustrated by the whole process but…

Alright well, thanks but no thanks, OK. I already said I don't' weight my food, I measure it. Now you're calling me a liar.
-
@ Shrinkingletters... Mmmm, I get what you are saying but 2 medium tomatoes are 2 medium tomatoes. It's not like I'm taking a 1/2 loaf of bread and calling it a slice or a 1/2 lb pasta and calling it a serving. There IS a difference. And don't forget that I have been speed walking for years now and also this summer added…

I am being honest. Why wouldn't I be honest? I can have a habit of mindless picking but now using the app I am very conscious and accountable of what is going in my mouth. No, I don't weigh, I measure my food and I eat as naturally as possible. I understand that some see a difference but I think the fractional amount of…

I enjoyed reading all the shortie success stories here but frankly it only makes me more depressed about my own lack of success. I've never been able to lose weight no matter what. I have none of typical things to cut out of my diet because I never eat fast food, pop, processed meals, etc in the first place. I was raised a…
