I followed the meal plan quite closely, the recipe approach, but reduced the cheese portions and often subbed out the daily protein bar for a leaner snack (just picked one of the 100 cal snacks) to stay within my calorie goals which are personally lower than what was allowed for in the meal plan.

Make a smoothie at home and drink on the way to, or at, work. I use 1 C frozen fruit, 1C almond milk, handful of spinach, scoop of vanilla protein powder, other tasty add-ins are yogurt or ground flax for added fibre!

My resting heart rate is in the low 60's so that sounds normal to me, but would depend on your age and level of fitness.
