I started weighing daily to get used to the fluctuations. That didn't take long! I'm now looking at my daily weight compared to calories, macros, and activity levels for the previous day or two. I like data.

It was a dark and stormy night, the rain fell in torrents. I realized I hadn't reached my step goal. I started walking in place, happily pounding the hardwood floor, and didn't hear my husband come home. I stopped for a rest and then saw him watching me with a silly grin on his face. I looked toward the windows and…

Blister healing uses 1 calorie per hour. @senecarr, do not demand a citation! It's just S.W.A.G. o:)

The charts are awesome! I've bookmarked this for future reference. Thanks for sharing.

I started just by logging for a couple of weeks. That showed me where my food intake was not so good, and I started choosing foods I like that kept me within my macros and calorie goal. I know from past experience that I will not stick to a diet that says eat this, don't eat that. I am sticking to a way of eating that…

I'm currently rehabbing from ACL reconstruction on left knee. My therapist told me to go to a gym and do core and upper body exercises but nothing relating to legs, and I am allowed to do elliptical every day. So I'm working everything except my right leg. It was feeling abandoned, so I let it do leg lifts with ankle…

This is the way I had to look at it. I was so tired of "diet" and "portion control" and all the other terms associated with weight loss. I had to look at it as a lifestyle change. My first couple of weeks on MFP, I did nothing but log everything I ate. Then I started to cut back on the things that were throwing my macros…

umm, don't think that's right. "Beginning from the early part of the twentieth century, various styles of tacos have become popular in the United States and Canada.[13] An early appearance of a description of the taco in the United States in English was in a 1914 cookbook, California Mexican-Spanish Cookbook, by Bertha…

Mine started at 40/30/30, but after a couple of months I adjusted to 35/35/30. That's where I feel good - more energy, not as tired, and easy to stay within my calorie limit. Everyone is different for sure, and it can take some experimenting.

Weight loss is not linear! Saved me a lot of stress over the daily fluctuations up and down.

Week 5 SW 182 CW 174.1 GW 167 7.9 lost, 7.1 to go

Learning that weight is a range, not a set number. You'd think I'd already know that, but. . . . . I didn't!

Awesome! Be sure to keep us posted.

Me too! For several days, my weight will range 2 to 3 lbs around the same base weight, then I'll suddenly drop 2-3 lbs a day for a couple of days in a row, then start over again. If I only weighed once a week, I would rarely see a change from my base. THAT would drive me nuts. It took about a month before I recognized the…

This site offers five different formulae for calculating body fat % https://www.healthstatus.com/calculators/ You can use them separately, or use the first one in the list, which seems to be an average of the other 4. Some of them require a lot of measurements, so get your measuring tape ready!

Mine transmits weight and body fat %.

I weight every day, because weighing once a week sent me into a tizzy if I didn't lose. After 5 weeks of daily weighing, I seem to be on a 10-day cycle - fluctuate 2 or 3 lbs up or down, then a 3 or 4 lb drop for a day, sometimes 2. Then the fluctuation begins again. As long as the Trendweight range keeps going down, I'm…

me too, for the same reason.

"person" at the gym was apparently agitated that I lost more weight than he did in the last month. He told me I was so pale I looked sick and needed to get a tan. I told him that keeping my skin was preferable to skin cancer (he's VERY tan). He walked away muttering while I laughed.

Yep, too.

Great work, and keep us posted!

I think if it did work, Saran wrap would come in bigger rolls and cost 10x more.

Strongly agree with using a trainer to get you started. I see a trainer 2x per week, and he kicks my butt! But he also knows I'm getting more comfortable with the equipment, and I ask a lot of questions, and listen to what he tells me. He wants to develop a plan for me to work on by myself, so I won't have to see him as…

No gimmicks for me. I'd rather lose weight in my caboose, not my wallet.
