I grew up in the South, raised on real cornbread and real grits. Never had sweet cornbread until my 30s. Never have liked it. Grits with butter, salt, & pepper, never sugar. My grandpa would shake his head in genuine grief when he saw non southerners putting sugar on grits. And my husband is a Brit. Been married almost 30…

I just knew somebody would remember that!

We should assume that 'old' is the poster's age plus 1.

I will ignore all posts with "activity tracker" or a brand name of such devices in the title. Why didn't THEY get their own forum??? Huh???? Splain that pleez.

This is my approach, too. I realize it won't work for everyone, but for me, a "cheat day" prompts the questions "Who are you cheating?" and "Why?"

I have a Polar H7. It took a bit to get used to putting on a chest strap, but the increased accuracy is worth it.

Forgot about this feature! Withings is the only display I can read without binoculars.

I have the Withings and really like it, The weather is interesting, but not really necessary.

Ok, I'll bite :) . What features worked before August 2015 that are no longer working?

Agree with @20yearsyounger and @srecupid. As for the comments about the current site being buggy, I've been logging in for 130+ days and haven't experienced any problems. My surgeon recommended massaging with vitamin e oil to help surgical scars heal. I bought a couple of very inexpensive bottles at the drugstore, then remembered my nurse mom once told me to buy vitamin e capsules, poke one end with a pin or needle and squeeze the contents out. I haven't tried vitamin e for anything other…

I was totally intimidated on my first visit. I kept cowering behind my trainer. At one point I was struggling (failing!) doing bicep curls with little baby weights when I noticed 2 young guys looking at me and whispering. Just when I was ready to run out crying, they both flashed big grins and gave me thumbs up. In the…

Mid morning for me, no matter what I have for breakfast. Late afternoons and evenings I seem to have no desire to eat, but make myself eat the rest of my calories.

Yeah, I tried one of those over-the-head things, and got stuck. I felt like a puppy chasing its tail, running in to walls & stuff. Fortunately, hubby heard the commotion, and rescued me. I like the C9 ones by Champion, and they are on sale right now. I usually get mine from the Hanes website.

One of our vendor brought us a HUGE gift basket of chocolates. One of the people on the Xmas party planning committee locked it in a storage closet, intending to save it for the party. The rest of the staff went on full attack, and followed him to the close to retrieve said basket. The chocolate lasted maybe an hour.

Me too. Lifestyle change, no intention of returning to my old ways.

to get halfway to my goal weight. I'm one pound away, and with my luck, that will be the most stubborn pound in the history of weight loss! May have to resort to drastic measures, like dynamite.

I'm 67 and started 2 months ago. Limited to 2x per week because I'm in PT 2x per week. As soon as that's over, I'll be in the gym lifting 4x per week.

Me too with the seats. I have an hour commute to work, and my car seat has gotten very uncomfortable. I squirm a lot. Can I count that as exercise? How many calories?

Glad you're back on your feet. Macros are carbs, fats, and protein. When you set your stats and goals in MFP, the % of each is set. When I started, mine were 40% carbs, 30% fats, 30% protein. Protein and fat are minimums to try to hit every day, while carbs a maximum. Good luck with your weight loss!

Second the hospice. The people there are amazing, and provide services for up to six months, including medications. At least they do where I live.
