Back at it today! Did some rollouts during a Sunday workout. That woke up the muscles at the bottom of my ribcage. HAHA! Need to remember to do rollouts regularly. Have a great week, y'all!

Me neither! HAHA! :D

Heard that. It was pizza night at Casa Steve yesterday. "Lots of pizza" night as it turned out. No matter - back on track today!

My sister set me up on a blind date with a friend of hers back in the day. We went to see "Jaws" at the drive-in. Did not get a second date with that girl. I can't imagine why! HAHA! :D

Happy hump day, all! Several of you mentioned hip and knee issues. Consider using some hiking poles when you're out walking. They help me a lot, particularly on the downhill portions on hikes. Many of them are collapsible and light - makes it easy to take them along anytime.

You're an inspiration, Kym. I hear you on those squats. I have been working on flexibility and doing goblet squats onto a box for months now. I think I have the form grooved. Time to get back under the bar and see what I can do.

I can relate. I am affectionately referred to as the "Cookie Monster" by my family. Think about when you eat sugary treats. Are you bored? Dealing with some stress? Just craving some sugar? The first step is to be aware of your mindset at the time. I work in several different offices. There are usually some sugary treats…

I tell people that the mutual support and encouragement is the best feature of this website. I've been overweight most of my life - lost and gained weight numerous times - yada yada yada. This site has helped me lose 50 pounds and keep it off for two years. Had never maintained any loss for that long in the past.…

A minor miracle on the intarwebz. Color me amazed!

Track your food - then eliminate the carbs and add more protein. For example - we make burritos at my house. I will put some extra meat and beans in a bowl and skip the tortilla. That cuts the carbs and adds protein. Or sandwiches without bread - served in lettuce wraps. Here's a link to a food database showing foods with…

Planning a desert hike with the pup and anyone else I can convince to go with us. And the never completed "honey do" list.

One thing that I tell myself for motivation - "You will be glad that you did the workout when you are finished." That has gotten me out of bed or off the couch many times. Make yourself a schedule. Include an off day or two during the week. Helps me to know that I can workout today and rest tomorrow.

Hope you all do something fun in this weekend. I'm taking the dog on a long hike - and anyone else I can cajole into joining us!

Yeah. Okay. And a secret handshake. HAHA! B)

Heard that. Winter has not left the high desert yet. Come on, spring!

Heard that. Maintenance is a struggle sometimes, too. No matter - I was overweight for a long time. Life is still easier at a lower weight, even if it is not your ideal weight. That's a good point that I had not considered. I have tweaked my back a couple of times doing multiple reps of deads. One thing that I have learned to do - take my time and do not rush through the set. I check and adjust form each time before pulling another rep.

Hello, all. The best feature of MFP is the mutual support and encouragement, as many of you have noted. I'm Steve. 65 years on this rock. Papa/cook/lifter/hiker/angler/dog servant. Live in Idaho near Boise. I started a serious weight loss program in 2017. Have lost about 55 pounds so far and been maintaining around 195-200…

Chicken salad on sourdough bread for dinner tonight. Leftover chicken breasts, celery, an apple and some toasted slivered almonds. Dressed with mayonnaise, stone ground mustard, horseradish and lime juice. My favorite way to use leftover chicken!

Poppers for game snacks today. Huge jalapeno peppers at the grocery today. Filled with a mixture of cream cheese and smoked salmon. They're tasty, but the salmon is not really noticeable. What do you use for fillings in poppers?

Nice work on your musculature, @gradchica27. You'd rock that red dress!

Thanks, DJ. Thanks a lot. Now I gotta' do it! HAHA! :D

Here's to giving it your all in that May comp!

You all are more inspiration than you know. I struggle to maintain that drive all the time. I climbed a mountain back in 2012, but I didn't reach the summit because I was not in peak condition. It has always nagged at me that I did not finish the climb. I need to make that my goal for this year,

Heard that. The first 50 pounds came off pretty steadily, but the last 20 are more stubborn than me. And I have gotten complacent - need to rededicate myself to dropping those last few pounds.
