Hi, Cathy. Glad to see you here. We'll work on keeping this thread going and motivating each other. I have been getting some hiking and walking in along with the lifting. Headed to the river again tomorrow for a few days - unplugged. I'll check in when I get back.

I do the same thing. "I'll just check in on MFP for a few minutes." Look up and an hour has passed. Gotta' find that balance between inspiration and action.

                That's discipline! Well done, Nan!

That's funny! You may have to change your profile name from miss_boof to miss_booty! :D

Glad you're back, Nan. You'll be dropping those pounds in no time!

                Good to hear from y'all!

Well done, Jo! What a workout! What mountains are those?

Good to see you guys! I will keep bumping this thread for MFP newbies. Congratulations, Kathleen! That is awesome progress!

Hi, Jo. I'm 64. Glad to share support and encouragement. Add me as a friend if you like.

Very unlikely that you gained 7.5 lbs. in a week. That would take massive calorie intake. My weight bounces all over the place. I just watch the trend line and ignore the daily ups and downs. I'd bet you'll drop several pounds with a couple of regular eating days. Let your friend know that ahead of time that you need to…

Other stuff that's easy to eat on the go - jerky, salami, pepperoni or deli meats like sliced ham or turkey. String cheese or sliced cheese. Make rollups with string cheese and sliced meats. Almonds or peanuts. Other fruits like apples or nectarines. I keep protein bars, string cheese, jerky, and almonds in a cooler in my…

Do you need something to eat on your trip to work? I keep protein bars around for that. If you want something warm, check the recipe threads for overnight oats. Made in a slow cooker or instant pot and ready to go when you get up.

Set some intermediate goals and reward yourself for meeting them. Like losing five pounds in a month. Also take some photos and measurements now. Many people lose inches even when the scale doesn't move. Then check measurements again every month or so. Keep checking in here. MFP is a great place for support and…

Sure. Just check in as you like. We're just here to be accountable and encourage each other.

Congratulations on 5 years of maintenance. That takes great discipline and commitment. Well done!

I make this with homemade salsa verde. 24 tomatillos 12 jalapenos Puree them in a blender or food processor. Add salt, pepper, chicken bouillon and garlic to taste. Pour that mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker. Leftovers freeze and reheat fine, so it also works well for meal prep. The cream cheese is a great idea.…

Yes, they are. She's the only sister I like. ;)

This is common, apparently. My little sister does the same thing. "Hey, bro. We should meet up for lunch". HAHA! ;)

Heard that. I love it when I can keep up with the kids.

Hellooo? Just trying to keep this thread active. Where is everyone?

My grandfather immigrated from Switzerland. He would bring the grandchildren some very good Swiss chocolate when he made return visits.

I don't think it was a waste. You have to try different approaches to see what works for you. Call it a lesson. Congrats on getting back to your lowest weight!

That's discipline. Going to workout when you'd rather not. Well done!

Lifted this morning with three other guys. The boys were rushing through the deadlifts - I needed more rest time between sets. Told them to leave the trap bar loaded when they were done. Did the cardio workout with them. Went back and did my last work set at 235 before I left the gym.
