One of the benefits of C25K is that it has got me out of the house a lot more. I love it. On my last run I saw a giant turtle and got wayyy too excited. :)

Me too! So happy to be here! :)

Add me, too! :)

You and I have a lot in common! I have two kids under 8, am a full-time graduate student, and was also up at 155 when I joined MFP. My goal weight by XMas is also 130! I sent you a friend request. :) We can do this!

Hi everyone! Very excited to find this group. I've got 7.5 lbs to lose to my ultimate goal weight, and those 7.5 seem to be stubborn little buggers. I have 2.5 to go to my interim goal weight. This is going to be a great group! Feel free to friend me. :)

Ignore the people who're trying to take the tough love approach if it doesn't work for you. (It definitely doesn't work for me.) The person who said you only need one really good day to build motivation is absolutely right! Just take it one day at a time or it can feel overwhelming. What helps me is to never let myself get…

Never let myself get hungry. I also realized I used to binge most when I was bored, and primarily when I watched TV. I don't have cable but I do have Netflix, so I limit myself to how much Netflix I'll watch during any given day. I find I now have extra time in the day AND I don't overeat, so it's a win-win.

I'm also on 1200 cals except for the days I exercise and can do it quite comfortably. Feel free to view my diary. I eat a lot of fish and whole wheat pasta. I also eat a good bit of my calories in small snacks throughout the day, as I feel these can be managed a bit better. Never let yourself get hungry or you'll tend to…

You are so very brave and honest. I think you already have the qualities you need to get to your healthy weight. I'm sorry you've had to deal with people's meanness and with feeling embarrassed for being in your body. I'm rooting for you! Sent you a friend request.

I'm still impressed that you only walked three times for 90 seconds each, after not having run for a month! Good for you! I think Moyer had some great advice, and you intuitively know what to do, so the only other thing is to keep showing up. :) Good luck!

BTW, what's up with MFP running Kit Kat ads on their site?

W3D3 done today, and I had a pace increase from 15 min/mile to 13 min/mile. Slow and steady. :)
-
Me! I skipped four days in a row because of work schedule issues and bad thunderstorms. I could really feel my energy flagging, too. I went this morning and it feels like a pressure valve was loosened! :)

Maybe try slowly transitioning from treadmill to paved walking trails to street?

Thanks, everyone! I have an armband with a key slot, but it doesn't hold my giant key fob. I like the idea of buying shorts with a zippered pocket. Today I tried to clip the fob to my bra strap, and it worked, but was a little uncomfortable with all the bouncing. Have any of you ladies tried the Joey sports bra? Thinking…

Woo hoo!!! Good for you!! I did W3D2 today--what a great feeling of accomplishment!

- A lost high schooler who'd wandered far off the path toward school. I pointed him in the right direction, lol. - An old golden retriever who reminded me of my own old guy at home. His arthritis is too bad now for him to run with me. :(
-
I did it! W3D1 was not nearly as hard as I imagined, and in fact, I was able to pick up my pace quite a bit from what I've been doing! I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed the longer jogging time. :) So relieved and excited!

Good luck tomorrow! I second stretching for extra time--it makes a HUGE difference for me. I like to stretch my calves by going up on my tippy toes, holding for a second, and then coming back down. If you need to repeat, there is NO shame in that. I'd repeat week 2 if you're still struggling with week 3 tomorrow.

That really sucks! I'm on some pills that make me constipated and it's so uncomfortable. Do you eat whole wheat grains? When I eat pasta and bread, I make sure they're whole wheat. I also drink tons of water (more than eight cups a day; do Crystal Light if water isn't your thing) and that helps. In a pinch, you can drink…

I gained and lost a pound in the week that I was on my period. Crazy!

I agree with not keeping it in the house. But if you must, then another option is keeping a healthier version of what you like. For instance, WW pre-packaged sweets or the ones Fiber One does. Also, I'd concurrently keep a food journal. I love the one here on MFP. It tells you exactly how many calories you have left and…

I've felt this before and you're right, it IS miserable. But the good news is, it does get better--much better. For now just keep your eyes on the prize. And maybe even remember this feeling to keep yourself motivated on those days when it's hardest. You CAN and WILL get there!
-
Thank you, thank you, all of you who responded!! Now I'm more psyched than nervous to go do this tomorrow. :)
-
@joy4strength Awesome job!! I start W3D1 on Friday, and am a bit nervous about the 3-minute run sessions...any tips?
-
@endlessenigma Hey, me too! I started running on my own last week, decided to check where I was today on the C25K app, and it turned out I was comfortable with W2D1. :) It really does baffle me that I'm actually effing RUNNING.
-
Totally agree with relaxing and not stressing about time! I would always freak myself out by thinking about running. My heart rate would skyrocket, my morale would drop, and it was just counterproductive overall. Now I relax and enjoy my music or let my mind wander. So much more fun this way, and I feel better about my…

Hi everyone! I'm not doing the C25K program per se, but I've started running on my own so I hope it's okay if I hang out with you guys. I've NEVER thought of myself as a runner, but after getting fitter from swimming a lot this summer, I decided to give it a go--and it's been great so far! I ran two days last week and…
