  • 5'4" and ~123 lbs. I've been maintaining here for a few months. I'm working on getting more toned/fit by working out 6 days a week, and eat about 2000 calories a day (sometimes more or less, just depends on my hunger level that day). I'm on a whole foods, plant-based diet.

  • Oops, I meant the Team Vegan group is a lot more active, not healthier!
  • Hi, and welcome! I've been WFPB since summer of this year (2019), and I'm loving it so far! Like your husband, I also decided to go whole hog (pun intended :)) due to a range of health issues. None of them were very serious, but they were troublesome enough that I wasn't enjoying my life as much as I knew I could if I were…
  • Hi, everyone! I've been whole foods, plant-based for about six months now and I'm loving every single second of it! I was plagued by fatigue, IBS, chronic headaches, and excruciating menstrual cramps before, but all that has disappeared since I began eating so clean. Also, I was really tired of being a hypocrite--saying I…

  • If you're into cookbooks, I highly recommend the Engine 2 Cookbook and the Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Cookbook! Even if you don't have heart disease (I don't either), the recipes in both are whole food, plant based, which is super important to make sure you're getting the depth and breadth of nutrients you need. I…
  • Many hugs to you, OP. FWIW, I'm fit now and can do both kinds of push-ups and sometimes, when I'm tired, I still have to revert to the modified kind. Fitness isn't linear, and you'll go backwards and forwards even when you've attained your fitness goal. It's okay to be sad or disappointed. And then we have to dust…
  • I'd like to lose about .5% body fat by my next check-in in mid-November!
  • Congrats on being only 3 lbs away! I loooove infused water so much. I like to get the Hint water bottles and fill my own water bottle about 1/4 of the way with Hint water and the rest of the way with regular iced water. Yummy!
  • Insecure people feel threatened when they see others taking control and making positive changes. Good for you for shaking that rude comment off!
  • Thanks for that feedback! I don't rely just on my leafy greens for iron. I get 100% of my iron from my supplements. The leafy greens are for the other nutritional benefits and whatever iron I may be able to absorb.
  • Me! I'm also eating whole foods only. :) Feel free to add!
  • I've struggled with this a lot in the past as well, both when I'm sick and when I'm on my period. Recently, I tried doing the inverse when I got sick and got my period the same week. I made a decision to continue to eat only healthy foods and just observe how I felt. The difference was tremendous! My body just felt so much…
  • Love Christmas/holiday-targeted challenges. :) I've gotten to my (somewhat arbitrarily determined) goal weight, so this is just for me to keep myself motivated to keep working out and logging my calories. I'm also tracking body fat %, which for me is a better indicator of health at this stage. I have some fat stores in my…
  • I have iron-deficient anemia as well. I eat a lot of dark green leafy veggies (like kale and spinach) every day. I also take an iron supplement.
  • I weigh veggies, but not anything else, really, especially not if it says something like "4 pieces." And for reference, I've continued to lose weight (got to my target this month!).
  • I completely agree with these viewpoints! I used to do MFP and eat junk--which left me tired, lethargic, and out of calories very quickly. That was not sustainable, and I continued to yoyo up and down with my weight because of it. This time around it's all whole plant foods for me, which means I can eat about 8 cups of…
  • I'm 5'4" and chose 125 because I remembered being there in my early 20s and again in my early 30s and feeling good. However, now that I'm there, I realize I still have some decent fat stores on my belly and my hips, so I'm going to continue losing until my body achieves stasis. At this point I'm feeling good in my body; I…
  • Height: 5'4" SW: 134 GW for end of September: 130 (But more than weight, I'm working toward 1% reduction in body fat % and 1" reduction off my waist measurement) Goal #1: Continue eating whole plant foods; also, no refined sugar, no white flour, no oil, no dairy. Goal #2: Continue working out 4-5 days a week with walks on…

  • That's fantastic, congratulations! One of my NSVs has been how well I can keep up in my hour-long HIIT/cardio/strength class. When I first began I'd get dizzy and feel like I was going to pass out, but now I can do the whole class. Woo hoo!
  • I'm running again, 2 miles non-stop! I'm slow as molasses, but for the longest time I couldn't comfortably brisk-walk the distance that I'm running now, so I'll take it. :)
  • That looks delish! Thanks for sharing!

  • Hi, everyone! I'm a serial starter of C25K. I finished once, a couple years ago, and really came to LOVE running, so I'm trying to rekindle that again. I have a base level of fitness this time that I haven't had before (from doing a fitness class and weight training for the last couple of months), so I began with week 4…
  • Hi, and welcome! I'm also new to weight training but not to MFP. :) Hoping to get toned and lose some weight as well!
  • I need this challenge! Got a beach vacation coming up that I want to slim down for. I've recently started a whole foods, plant-based diet and am also weight training. Start wt: 152 Goal wt (for end of June): 137 Goal wt (ultimate): 125 May 31: 145 June 7: June 14: June 21: June 28: Good luck, all! :)
  • Thanks, everyone! It turns out the half a pound loss put me at a caloric goal that was perfect. I'm okay with losing more slowly. :)
  • Week 3 day 3 done!
  • Height: 5'4" Current weight: 146 lbs Halloween goal weight: 131 lbs Ultimate goal weight: 125 lbs Next weigh-in: Friday, June 29th. I've been doing C25K and tracking my food intake for over three weeks and my scale hasn't budged at all. Trying not to be discouraged because I do see a change in how clothes fit me, so I know…
