  • Everyone has great advice! I will add to set small, baby step goals. Think about your next meal and what you should eat. Not the whole day. Congratulate yourself for each goal met! You aren't failing, you are succeeding! Another tactic, is to try to change one small thing for a few days, then add another goal. For…
  • I agree with the posters above... but would suggest to work for those beers. Maybe get 50-100 calories MORE than usual each day by exercising. Set solid, realistic goals for yourself. Cut your daily calories by 50, if your current calorie allowance allows it. But - and this is important - you must earn those beers BEFORE…
  • Thanks for the great suggestions! I do eat a lot of eggs, for sure. I had given up on my quest bars - but I will try them again warmed!
  • I had lost 50.2 pound pre-op. I seemed to have lost slower than others... but I was still pleased! Post surgery: month 1 loss: 15 lbs month 2: 14 lbs month 3: 9 lbs
  • I am losing weight so *I* feel better. I am losing weight for a lot of reasons - but very few of them have to do with other people. Yes, I am sure they noticed I am fat. But I don't want to notice that they have noticed. /shrug
  • I know just what you mean. For me, if they acknowledge that I am losing weight they are also acknowledging that I am overweight. Or like people are watching you, and if you have a set back, it's embarrassing. Can you get away with saying "I've lost a little, thank you for asking." Then change the subject? Maybe have a…
  • I had a very "easy" surgery and recovery. I never did have problems getting my liquids or protein shakes down. But... because of that, I may have overdone it. About week 3, I started feeling hungry all the time. Starving. Even after I had just eaten. I finally called the doctor on week 5 and said that I didn't think it was…
  • I am 2.5 yrs out and had similar concerns. I can eat junk foods with no restriction. But, if I eat meat, I certainly can't eat very much. How much steak, chicken or pork can you eat in a meal? If you try that test, it may reassure you that you haven't stretched your sleeve.
  • I am 2.5 yrs out, and can tolerate everything. For the first year or so, if I ate ice cream I got that stomach ache like when you were a kid and gorged yourself on too much candy. But now it is fine. I get slightly nauseous if I take one or two bites too many... but it passes in a few minutes.
  • I am 2.5 years out, and have gained a significant amount back. Would like to lose 50-60 pounds. I am very ashamed, and need all the support I can get! I am looking for friends, so feel free to add me!
