I go by a calorie deficit per week, much lower calories during the week to indulge on Fridays. I like to go out, my Friday diary has a lot of craft beer. Still losing .5-1 lb per week. Sure, I could have lost weight faster by cutting out alcohol but for me that wouldn't be sustainable, and really not that much fun.

Just a thought - How tall are you? For example, at 5'11 - 170 is at the upper end of normal weight and 135 is at the low end, so for me, losing that weight would be a very slow process, .5/week which can be masked by water weight & TOM. I have a steeper calorie deficit Sunday-Thursday to account for partying on the weekend. Still losing consistently even though Fridays may include numerous adult beverages.

I keep a larger deficit Sun-Thur to give myself leeway for drinks and going out Friday nights and eat at maintenance on Saturday. I just make sure for the week I am at my needed deficit.

I mostly lurk, but I'm confused, did you or did you not ask for help? You seem to be rejecting good advice that you asked for. I know, for me, when I was using measurements like 'tablespoon' or 'scoop' I was vastly vastly underestimating my calories, by around 300-500 or so.

I bank significantly, so I can go out with H on Friday nights and go significantly over, as long as my week levels out. My diary is embarrassing on Fridays.

I've lost 18 lbs since the end of august so just shy of what you are wanting to accomplish. Most of it really started mid-September when I got a food scale. I'm really meticulous with weighing and logging. I work out 2-4 times a week and bank calories for the weekend. I'm 5'9 and started at 196.

I save calories all week to go out with the husband on Fridays. I'll have a bit of wine during the week, but my diary is embarrassing on Fridays.

I'm close too - 5'9 currently 183, down from 196, goal is 140-150. I log most everyday using a food scale, except weekends that I'm out of town or something. Try to exercize at least 3x a week

Your diary looks a lot like mine used to before I started lurking on these forums. Underestimating by a ton, I would be so proud of staying under my goal, but I was really just lying to myself. Once you accept that you'll be better off.
