interesting camping out at home. Realized that the cold dessert due at a Wed mtg may not happen so formulated a back up plan. Did little today - messed with some financial stuff and watched TV. Wind here just about a steady 20 mph. Wondering if from hurricane. Knocked over my tall cosmos and broke half of them, so now…

Roger - glad to know folks are already decorating for Halloween - all too soon it's gonna be winter. Had brunch at Cracker Barrel today - they have Halloween and Christmas stuff out. Had yummy apple/cranberry french toast, tasted a corner in the cinnamon syrup at the end, cheesy eggs and smoked sausage - yum, yum. Met our…

Finally left the land of catatonia after the last 4 days - drugged up on pain meds, mostly slept - missed a few doses - took off sling today and drove for the first time since Fri as well. Arm still a bit ouchy in various areas - funny how the pain relocates - way better than Fri/sat tho. As DH had stitches in his hand and…

of all things, while doing dishes Friday I popped my collar bone/shoulder joint. Ouch. Cancelled Fri night, caught a ride for yesterday's events. Taking pain med - mostly sleeping - got a curb side consult from a fellow alum, a pediatrician who suggested a sling to rest it. Put sling on at 3 yesterday - feeling much better…

Aren't people both a blessing and a curse at times! Bev - I've done Rapid City and Black Hills in SD - gorgeous. We never went further West - been to the grand canyon twice too, plus the painted dessert. Truly magnificent with the red rocks out west. Had my refraction appt today - eye is right on track. Surprisingly, left…

Lows suck big time - really make you feel off kilter - you're actually crashing and could die if it goes too low. That being said - also means something in your diet is working. Easy to fill up on veggies and not get enuf balance to keep you steady. Carbs bring up blood sugar, sometimes too fast and sometimes lead to…

Happy week to all. Watching the Emmys.

DH's wound dressing fell off overnight - he's already graduated to a band aid. So much for leaving it on for a few days. Son will be over to watch the Browns in a little bit - I'm off to shuck corn and do the dishes so I can carve up the pork loins we bought yesterday when I'm ready. Another gorgeous, early fall day.…

Made a trip to the ER today. Dave cut his left pinky with a chisel - a really sharp chisel - so now he has 3 stitches. I woke to the 3rd low this week - and fell back asleep while watching TV - so he had to wake me to take him to get fixed up. Thankfully we don't live far from the hospital. And they weren't busy today - so…

Wow Roger - you never cease to amaze me! Up most of the night looking for dead relatives. Ancestry has a few day sale for half price for the next 6 months which is perfect as it takes you thru winter to March. Added 40 verified folk. Only slept 5 hrs tho - so kinda dragging. Nice day here - mid 70s. Off for hair cut and a…

Wow - really weird things happening on my puter. Good non vocal music started while clicking on your post Roger - did you embed anything? Then a paypal screen popped up and the fitness equipment below. Wiped this post. Roger - so nice that you walk and get paid for it daily! I'm totally impressed by the fact you're awake…

Val - it's impossible to always be on the straight and narrow path - just get back on and keep moving forward!

Val - I'm actually impressed that you stopped at 4, and skipped dinner! Hard to do. DaisyLee - also impressed - that's what you gotta do, or you know the consequences. Roger - Thunderbirds are in town - finally fell across that info. They trade off, different teams on different years. Feeling a bit better today so far.…

Roger - what a great idea you have about marking your NS items. Hadn't heard that one before. Scanning on my agenda today - think I'll start with books as it makes the most impact - haven't talked myself out of saving recipes - darn it! Honestly, will I ever seek any of them again. Hot already - 90s predicted for the next…

Happy Labor Day Weekend all! To all genealogists out there - both Ancestry.com and American Ancestors are offering free weekends - Ancestry started yesterday and ends Monday. Wills & probate (mostly Chicago), births, deaths, marriages. Filled in quite a few blanks here and there. Had eye appt today - 3 hrs - he was way…

Puter fixed - learned how to enlarge scans and stream. Went to an alum lunch, toured my old Senior Dorm and the new Student Center - fab lunch - quiche and salad. Then visited with an old friend for quite a while.
