I can absolutely relate. I don't have 100% control yet, but here are some ideas: 1. never get too hungry. 2. go for opposites when you want something sweet - something sour like pickles 3. read the book "Brain Over Binge" 4. don't keep problem foods in the house. avoid them for a while until you feel you have some control.…

I also tend to drink too much when I go out. You could try alternating your alcoholic drinks with club soda & lemon. helps me. Mind you, I am just starting my weight loss journey. I started limiting my alcohol a couple months. I still have a couple drinks, but I don't over do it. The water helps.

Wow. Thank you. That's amazing. I am really surprised by that. Just doing nothing I am burning a lot of calories. Good heavens, I must have been eating a lot too to gain weight! lol

Thank you. Do you know if the exercise burns given by MFP account for body weight or if they are just general estimates. I guess that's why everyone says only eat back half of what you burn.

I just wanted to add. For me, I think this time will be different because I am feeling so much shame over my body size. And I'm tired of lugging around the extra weight. But shame = great motivator.

Hi. You sound like me but I"m older than you. Suddenly gained 40 pounds after my divorce and I am dealing with job/career stress and binge eating. I'm ready to stop. My hairdresser started boxing and she looks fabulous these days so it's a great exercise. Sent you a friend request. I woudl love to talk binge busting ideas
