OP, MFP and other calorie logging apps are based entirely on CICO. Coming into a forum for those using CICO, and succeeding with it, and saying "CICO doesn't work! Please validate my wishful thinking that yogurt/kefir will make me thin!" Isn't going to get you too far. That should be common knowledge ;)

Hi there! 5'10" here. Started at 226lbs at the beginning of April, 165lbs now so that's 61lbs lost. I want to lose 5-15 more. I began at a size 12/14 (12's if they were stretchy) and am now in 6's and 8's depending on the brand... So after all that crap about me, I think your goal is totally reasonable. When I first…

Those studies need take age into account. Of course a 45 year old overweight person will be more likely to survive and recover from the same illness that kills a thin 75 year old.
-
I bought a 6 and a 12 from the same brand the other day (at a thrift store but both items were American Eagle) and they fit almost the same! So ridiculous.

The first 2 things they would do for you at the hospital (after the meds you've already tried) 1: glycerine suppository, 2: enema. Both of these things can be bought cheaply at your local drugstore. Another less pleasant treatment (if those don't get anything moving) is removing the blockage manually (better to try doing…

I went through a growth spurt at 8 where I grew 6" in less than a year and another one when I was 10. Those spurts left me covered in flaming red stretch marks. Now at 29 they're white but they're still here.... Cover those puppies with tattoos! :)

It's medically advised to maintain a waist circumference that's no more than half your height. Google "waist to height ratio".

From what I've read lipo only works if you're within 25lbs of your 'ideal' weight and isn't effective as a weight loss tool. That said I have a few small spots I would mind having lipoed away! :)
-
I count them :)
-
Eat low sodium and drink lots and lots of water.
-
I've lost 54lbs and only lost 2-3 (depending on the brand) sizes. :( I'm 5'10"

Any oils or anything with oil in it (pesto). Way to calorie-dense!
-
I tend to eat light for breakfast and lunch and save around 800-1,000 calories for dinner so that I can eat a lot at the end of the day.
-
If it goes in my mouth it gets logged.

As you lose weight make sure to refresh your MFP goal, the less you weigh the less calories you get. 9lbs lost with MFP and I get 60 less calories than when I started. Doesn't sound like a lot but it adds up.

Hi everyone :) CW: 172lbs GW: 156lbs

I'm a bit shorter than you 5'10"and am aiming for 160 (at 173 now, down from 226) and will reevaluate when I get there---- I'd say just keep going and if you get to a point where you no longer feel that you look good or feel good then stop. I think 160 sounds like a reasonable goal :) --- good luck!
-
I eat light/low calorie breakfasts and lunches and save most of my calories for dinner. I find having a big meal to look forward to gets me through the day and it's nice to go to bed with a full stomach.
-
Congrats! I felt relieved when I went from obese to overweight and going from that to normal/healthy weight was even better :) Keep it up!
-
Eat whatever you normally eat, just eat less if it/eat at or below the daily goal MFP suggests. You don't have to do anything fancy to lose weight :)

Try dinner out OR cocktails, not both in the same weekend.

Hi there! Personally I don't eat back my exercise calories and haven't had any issues because if it. Been eating between 1200-1800 (currently no more than 1600 daily with MFP) over the last 5 months and have lost 51lbs. I've been running 25-35 miles per week during that time as well.
-
I'm your height, 79kg. MFP gave me 1600 cal a day (2lbs a week goal) with an active lifestyle... I do pretty well on the not getting hungry thing. The trick is not to blow your calorie allotment on high calorie, unfilling foods. You can eat a TON of veggies, fruits too, for very few calories.

I feel your pain! I used to be sick to my stomach constantly and stuck in a neverending cycle of alternating constipation and diarrhea. Did elimination diet and ultimately cut out meat. Between 2001-2008 the only meat I ate was chicken and had occasional issues, since 2008 been completely vegetarian and have had zero…

I've lost 51lbs in the last 5 months and often don't see a difference but I agree with those who seen the difference in their clothes not fitting. -- 5'10" and 175, down from 226. 15 more lbs to go (at least).

Waist to height ratio is a good system for avoiding health problems related to visceral fat. Neither gender should have a waist width exceeding 50% of their height. At 70inches tall you should be working to get down to at least a 35" waist.

Are you counting your calories each day? Exercise is good and all but most weight loss comes from dietary changes. Also make sure you're not replacing your sodas with something equally caloric.
