  • 4lbs up from 2 weeks ago when we started. Poor food choices. Got upset about how many foods give me a sinus headache and inflamation so kind of gave up restricting histamines and carbs. OMG I feel so unhealthy. That is aside from the headache and bloating! Guess I am stuck with a narrow food selection. Mum home and my…
  • @FitToLead if I am not in my simple carbs are not food mode then my days I am more likely to fall off the wagon are ones that I don't read and share here. Helps my self patience level.
  • Love broccoli is my foods food. Fun. Thxs for sharing.
  • @sabine_stroehm and @dasher602014 thanks for support here. I am mentally and physically in a happier place for mum visiting. I sure had my momments, like this morning where my mind or body are processing my life history and choices but better for it. I now acknowledge what my mum can and can't do plus where I need to own…
  • I was a B**** this morning, feeling listless and sad. Ate appropriately, or so I thought. BPC then lunch of egg n Fried courgette in butter. Granted the courgette/ zuchini had been in the "crisper" a week but felt firm. Like @karlottap Headache etc. Husband suggested I finally give up and take an antihistamine. Wow did…
  • Check your scale is on a Flat hard even surface (like tiles, not wood floor boards as they flex, or even worse, carpet). Flex in underlying supporting floor will generate differences in readings. If moved, for mine, first weight is inaccurate, as Sunny found, so I ignore that and use second weight, which if on a flat hard…
  • As @tlflag1620 said: 2-3 a day without shell. Boiled eggs at work canteen are on a short list of low carb (not covered in sugary sauce) options. Scrambled and omlette also good.
  • 25km cycle, 15 min xtrainer and 15 min treadmill plus some yoga and meditation.
  • Young cheese and metwurst tonight. Low carb good, risk of histamine moderate. Couple of eggs n some chicken too. Achooo. Sore throat, sneezing. Back to basics tomorrow and no hint of histamines again for a few weeks.
  • CI<CO requires so much discipline that he drops 10 then gains 15 and repeat. Will get reading, thanks!!
  • Thanks @Phrick ! Will investigate. He wants to be healthier and needs to find his own path but I am keen to put up a few good road signs that help.
  • Hope the insights of the test make that headache worth it
  • Yep, sure is cute! Maybe your sister in law thought it would give you a laugh and a back handed compliment too. I don't know her so I'll give her the benefit of doubt.
  • Please read our lcd launch pad, under anouncements for answers to this and many other great tips (ie stay healthy by increasing sodium and magnesium). Lots of advice and information about "all this" there. In terms of reducing carbs there is no wrong. We each try lowering cabs. In trial and error some folk find lower than…
  • Took mum to airport. Her visit was fun and an emotional roller coaster. I Ate too much as I de-stressed and relaxed tonight. Back on track tomorrow. Cycle plannex.
  • @paleoinscotland I hear you. Top tip there. Sorry to hear you needed insulin again. Was just thinking of you and wondering how your life juggle was going. Hugs and wishing you loads of handy lchf foods. I found yoga and even just time out, like a teenager, in my bedroom, reading or doing something mindful like making…
  • Yes, quite a crew here who do. Bullet proof coffee is also part of a fasting routine for some, including me. Early dinner, late lunch and a BPC for breakfast (butter and coconut oil or brain octance / high mct oil plus black coffee blended rigourously). Interesting to explore what works for each of us :) any specific query?
  • @fitxellie feel free to add me. I have not logged my food on mfp for a while. I tend to be here on the forum when I am not traveling or have visitors. Speaking of which, mum heading back to Australia a few hours ago and that means me back to lchf. Looking forward to feeling less sluggish n bloated!
  • Magnessium in -ate form, not oxide is our friend too. Great for cramp prevention. Welcome to a wonderful community.
  • Btw do seek professional help or speak with a caring person if your mind is spiraling down. This Aussie site has some good resources and suggestions: https://www.beyondblue.org.au/ https://www.beyondblue.org.au/the-facts/anxiety-and-depression-checklist-k10 Use that second link if you want to be aware of typical symptoms…
  • Momentum. Carbs n foods that inflame my body encourage my system to feel sluggish so I crave sugar to get past that. Short spike then crash. Takes me a few days, patience and a little self awareness to create enough discipline to do like folk suggest above and get back to a healthier me. Sleep, walking, yoga, mindfulness…
  • Carby binge finale today. Mum safely en route back to Australia. Learned a lot and happier for that. Had some fun and some insightful reflections. Back to my healthier ways now. Thxs again folks for care n understanding.
  • I agree with @samanthaluangphixay Some folk stick with under 100g and can include fruit n veg. Green leafies, cauli n broccoli are low sugar whereas startchy veg like potatoes or carrots are higher in sugar and best avoided. Raspberries can be a treat that have less sugar than bananas or apples. Warning fruit yoghurt can…
  • Stress, salts, inflammation, exercise, TOM and body just taking its own sweet time to adjust to ongoing changes. My body changes shape whilst not changing weight and after that awesome loss that you had my body would be doing some reconfiguration. Patience n keep going. Apologies for repeat but basically as folk above…

  • Love those pants victories!!
  • @macchiatto Awesome work! Congrats!! @slimzandra thxs for the laugh (once urge to strangle her passes). Likewise! Complex mix of emotions. Good luck with birthday celebrations. Amazing how hard one can work to see someone experience joy, when they are, in themselves, so resistant to it. Safest place to be is low. Nowhere…
  • Crashed n burned.... no survivors. 4 day holiday: East Nerherlands, Germany, (cologne, bonn, rhine and mossele rivers), luxembourg and back home. Gorgeous scenery and amazing bakery products on offer with little LCHF on offer. Combine that with social food pressure and managing my mother and safe to say I am both inflammed…
  • My realisation this week is sometimes our best familiar coping strategy is not the most ideal, but under stress is perhaps not the easiest time to consistently apply new ways of coping. I accept 5lb gain in 2 weeks as the consequencs of having holiday fun and eating my sadness back to manageable bite sized pieces. I am…
  • Welcome back. Self kindness n patience with initially more achievable goals may help. 20g carb might be better for pcos but doing 80 consistently would be better than giving up and doing a standard high carb diet. Could you do a slow ramp down to 20? For me, cold turkey worked best but find what works for you. If I eat…
