  • BTW chocolate caused sneezes this week, as did BBQ chicken (from shops) but next day leftovers of that same chicken was fine, no sneezing. As a scientist the lack of constraints on variables is making any conclusions null n void, or at the best dodgy!
  • A variable worth note: stress. My face goes flakey this week is it the yoghurt, likely, but could also be bad habits assoc stress such as no exercise, dehydration, lack of sleep plus a hormonal response to my mind on overload. Our bodies are such fascinating machines. Think mine might need a "tune up".
  • In an effort to flatten my emotional roller coaster world, without the use or should I say abuse of food or alcohol, here goes: 54.5kg now. Target is loose 2 kilos. Method is Drink more water, exercise when I am healthy enough to do that and watch for carb creep from fruit. On a plus side last week I lost weight as I had…
  • Hi folks. Back on deck. Survived business trip to bangalore with no sinus reaction. Stunning result. Bangalore is where my sinus reactions originally got worse and fatigue kicked in. I realise there is a LOT of added sugar in drinks and meals. For example fresh lime soda comes sweet or with salt. Given a choice I skip…
  • Back in India. 1 cosmopolitan a day but otherwise on track and eating less. Poor stomach is telling me to f off and not eat. Hard to argue with it really. Love the colour, passion and energy.
  • Yesterday soft cheeses like camembert at a friends 50th after no cheese for weeks. Aside from headache and sinus pain, I awoke up today with my upper legs and arms both having a pimply rash where hair follicles look blocked. At least that rash reaction is crystal clear. Caesin in dairy is the likely suspect. (Thxs google)
  • American diners and brittish pubs are easy, as above sans bun and hold the fries or mashed spuds. Some places have substituted green leafies for potato with my salmon. Asian restaurant sauces tend to be integral to the dish so a bit harder, having said that I regularly order beef or chicken noodle soup with no noodles. Odd…
  • Thank you @KnitOrMiss I think vietnamese food may be my new best friend. I love it and have found a number of tasty options. I will check your websites out tomorrow. Late here after long work day. V interested to explore them.
  • Happy 4th of July everyone. Any excuse for a party, even if I am not from the USA. Wedding celebrations and stonehenge were fantastic. English ales, scones, cream, fresh strawberries and waay too much food. Loved it. Getting back on plan today!! HEAVY. Even if my friend called me skinny today. I am bloated and 2 kilos up.…
  • Salisbury cathedral, England, for a wedding today. Excited. Gorgeous venue. Judging from last night's hen's evening, lots of good choices and even more bad ones, food wise. Will need some will power today! 56.7kg when I checked 2 days ago. Will let you know next Tuesday on weekend impact. Using same 10 goals as last month.
  • Wow. I envy your results. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it. Amazing!!!
  • I needed glasses for headaches. Did eye exercises and no longer needed the glasses. Focus on index finger whilst bringing it to your nose, for example. The breaks with focusing on something in the distance (preferably outside but in will do if office big enough) were and are enormously important for my happy eyes. I…
  • @Panda_Poptarts YES YES YES you can travel with it. I have flown from the Netherlands to Malaysia and back with the 100ml container of MCT oil in my checked in luggage in a ziplock plastic bag in my toiletries so absolutely YES you can fly with it. That was what I tried to say in last post. I have even returned USA to…
  • @elize7 great to hear your stress reduction. I hope that you slept well, I know I did (and here I was thinking I was handling the potential job loss situation really well and not being as stressed as my colleagues)
  • Work announcements today... with some departments having significant cuts and after months of uncertainty... confirmed I retain my job and my role even expands. We get to stay in the Netherlands. Wahoo.V happy dance in progress plus more steak! Celebration with cherries too (one of very few things I miss from a higher carb…
  • I put Mct oil in a 100ml container in with my toiletries. I put them in clear plastic bag for carry on and if in hold as that also helps in case of spills. I also take a hand held milk frother which i use as a blender. Have a fun trip
  • https://youtu.be/GkQYZ6FbsmI Phinney gives some great information here and how lchf can improve performance of endurance athletes. His description is in percent and thought you may appreciate that. Interesting stuff!
  • @myrilstorm congratulations! So happy for you!
  • OP you mention being indian. This opens a world of high fat curry options. Beware the usual added sugar though. I find it easy to eat curries without the naan, chapatti or rice, but I was not raised on them. My exception would be if I was at a colleagues house and eating traditionally, then something is needed to help get…
  • @saltysailors my mfp experience with emoticons is based on trying to make entries on an android phone. Not sure if same applies for entering them on a computer but worth a try. Today I am officially into my danger zone 126lb. I know does not sound much but when 120-123 is normal and I have been eating well and exercising,…
  • @jasperdog52554 the sweetener that causes my friend (who I mentioned much earlier in this thread) is aspartane. They can not drink Mountain Dew at all without issues. Given your post, thus why I ranked artificial sweeteners first on my list.
  • I started on not being hungry low cal for 2 months but it ironed out. If I forget measurements on oil/ butter some days and that can mean under counting.
  • @saltysailors suggest do not use emoticons like happy smiles. Mfp kills anything after the first one for me. If I could add a :) from a selection of options (rather than keyboard colon, bracket, I would)
  • Artificial sweeteners causes a good friend of mine to race to bathroom, a lot! In my view I would start by dodging them. My other thoughts are: If you overdo Magnessium, particularly oxide then OMG serious thunder pants. Some folk frind coconut oil effectively like a laxative. Personally, I took an electrolyte that was…
  • Go @SuperCarLori I support the suggestion of buying allen carr's book (web link below). One of my best friends went from chain smoking packs a day to quiting, moving country and retiring all in the same 3 months. Bit of an emotional battle to do all 3 at once but she did and inspired her friends back in UK to stop smoking.…
  • Hugs! Delighted for you. Great courage and determination!
  • @PamamaJane and @nvmomketo would you believe our "stReak" night out, we were celebrating so I chose to have one glass of alcohol and the least sugar option was a margarita... da daa na da da da da.... tequila
  • @macchiatto I hear you! I am close to maintenance goal and my body is bouncing weight wise. To keep my sanity I have declared traffic light weight bands. Green 115-120, amber 120.1-124.9, red 125+. That way I feel I have less risk of weight creep. Right now I am in the danger zone- jumped amber to red yesterday so refocus…
  • @Gallowmere1984 and @baconslave I am laughing hysterically. Typed quickly before heading out and did not check it. Steak was amazing even without the nakedness.
  • Streak dinner to tonighf... more than a bit excited. Sunny evening too. Blessed. Bring on more of this basics challenge- helps me maintain focus and soldier on.
