  • My motivation changed. I need help from MFP peeps. I have lost 155 of the 175 I set as a goal. I wear size 16 or 18. I feel great; did a 5K this morning with a smile. This week, I ate fine at breakfast and lunch. Yogurt n fruit snack. After a proper dinner every night, I ate some trail mix. Then 1/2 pear. Neither evening…
  • I completed a health-charity 5K today in memory of my mother, a week befor Mother’s Day.
  • I just got my first “you don’t need to lose more” comment from someone trying to be complimentary. I said “I’ll go by what the dr. says next time” and moved on. It’s not up for discussion. -152 with 23 to go and see how things look. Oh the bingo wings though!
  • I made it to ONE-derland! Thank you MFP members for your candid comments and support; I read several threads a night.
  • Today I was in a day-long training at a Westin hotel near my home. We had two 15-minute breaks and a lunch break. The hotel rep badged me into the fitness center all three times to walk the treadmill for 7600 steps. No excuses even on this day when my schedule was booked. Thank you Westin hotel!
  • My husband made a joke, “you’re not going to run off on me now, are you?” I was startled and a little upset. I don’t have my eye on someone else. This is for health, so we can be together longer.
  • I log the four things I take daily under Snacks, copying it every morning from the day before. Multivitamins, fiber powder, and vitamin D. For the calories and the nutrients.
  • You have shared an impressive accomplishment and that’s a vivid illustration. I plan to take a similar picture soon holding my grown daughter (propped on the couch back of course) and apologizing to my joints for years of abuse.
  • Breakfast Food - cottage cheese and pineapple Fruit - pineapple Veg - spinach Chocolate Bar - Reeses Italian Food - chicken Marsala Takeaway Dish - Chinese pepper steak Childhood Food - steak If you had to choose only 3 things to eat for the rest of your life...what would they be??? Steak, spinach, pineapple Foods I hate:…
  • Roast pork, portobello mushrooms, asparagus. Appetizers of long romaine leaves, feta cheese, craisins with pomegranate juice, low-fat ranch zigzagged on top. My guests/husby also have baked potatoes and deviled eggs. I’m all logged and good for the day. Happy Easter and Passover.
  • My Apple-synched steps did not show as exercise calories earned today.
  • Bjcrewe please keep posting! We are cheering for you.
  • As a first responder you have dedicated your life to kindness. You heard unkindness and you don’t care for it. Perfectly logical! She cannot control your personal health choices. Only you can. Pursue your goals! They are for you and you alone. So sorry you ran into that situation.
  • Kind words to OP have helped me today. I thought I had hit the jackpot with sugar free/fat free pudding mix in my milk allowance (Dr. prescribed plan). Never checked the carbs, logged one serving per day, but I’ve been eating four servings per day (the whole envelope) for a month. I was devastated. I have changed my eating…
  • No going back. Nourishment and hydration and moving daily are our commitments to ourselves. Consignment shops have been a godsend so I can look nice on the journey to ONEderland - actually, well into it.
  • That’s progress for sure! When I put my knees together and bone touched bone ... wow. Then I saw space between the mid-thighs. WOW. Properly shaped thighs ... I’m coming for you next.
  • I don’t have OCD but I feel completely determined to eat as my dr. prescribed, meet my step goal, and drink as he directed. Today I was upset because a storm prevented my walk to complete my step goal. It broke my 6-day streak of 10000/day. Even without a diagnosis, people can feel as you do. It’s important to remind…
  • Giving blood is a generous, selfless act. While we’re all concentrating on eating, drinking water, logging, cardio, strength training, and interim wardrobes, you have added in “helping others.” I admire you.
  • Set off on a health journey, not a diet. This is your new lifestyle. Find what works for you. Logging won’t make you lose weight. Logging, learning, and adjusting for healthy eating is the path Whole, fresh foods rule. Treat MFP pals with the gratitude you feel - let them know. Many post lots of reassurance and tips. Use…
  • Brown boneless chicken breast in skillet. Move to one side and sauté frozen niblet corn for a minute. Add a can of black beans and a can of Rotel Mexican style diced tomatoes (or chunky, or fire-roasted). Heat through. Voila!
  • I’m 9 lbs. away and so excited for you. Working towards this mini-goal. ONE-derland, I’m comin’ for you.
  • I credit MFP posters with offering me perspective. My doctor prescribed the guidelines, I committed, but reading Success Stories daily reminds me that weight loss is not linear and this is my new way of life. I enjoy reading others’ successes and strategies. You’re not here when I prep my food selections, but everything…
  • I have been committed to my health for one full year. Now off all meds for T2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Churning out 10,000 steps a day regularly, from the days when a thousand steps was my baseline. Have completed two 5Ks (walking). Purchased second “interim wardrobe” from consignment shops and donated work…
  • We started a new family tradition today. We’re visiting our adult daughter, and she and her husband did a 5K with us this morning. She said we should try to find one every time we visit. It was a fun and upbeat event and we had a great time!
  • I made up recipes that support my goals, logged them, and use them. Some are old favorites that I reworked. Pasta and meat sauce: now Muir Glen garden style pasta sauce, lean ground beef with plenty of Mrs. Dash, and Birds Eye Zucchini Lentil Pasta which, because it’s all vegetables, counts lower carbs than pasta.
  • That I would be disappointed that I can’t work toward 10000 steps per day this week. Tweaked my knee yesterday when I stepped through leaves and a rock slid a short way. It’s been a year since I was proud of a 1300 step day, in to work and home.
  • I am thinking you might be my male twin. Your story is inspiring me to keep on; -130 but 45 to go. Still walking the 5k but can do it twice on a weekend in the neighborhood so no problem at the two charity 5ks I’m signed up for. You’re jogging! Very, very good progress.
  • Last night friends sat at a restaurant’s outdoor dining table before I came out. I sat right down on the plastic chair without a care. 130 lbs. ago I had to have a regular chair at a gala instead of the pretty chiavari chairs selected for the decor. On my way to goal and never ever going back. Thank you MFP community for…
  • Ignore the “complete your diary” feature. It figures on identical days for five weeks, and there are no such animals.
  • I have droppped from a 34W/5x to an 18W so far. I brought my original business clothing to a plus-size consignment shop. The credits went toward smaller plus-size business clothing. I didn’t do it soon enough! My first interim wardrobe was size 24. People at work really noticed. That suggests I was looking a little baggy.…
