  • Im 46 now. Started at 45 @ 215#, HPB and Cholesterol. I found a my gym family (finally) and that has made a big difference in my motivation and my workouts. Im now at 172#, no longer on meds for cholesterol, I've pretty much stopped snoring. Now working on my HPB. You just have to start. Set smaller goals. Don't give up.…
  • Kickboxing is a great cardio exercise. I do it along with Krav maga and Jiu Jitsu. Core workouts are a must also.
  • Most store bought PB is bad. Make your own. Cheap and easy. Almond butter is even better.

  • Wondering the same. Sugar free and no added sugar are 2 very different things.

  • Your body needs carbs. Good carbs. Sweet potatoes over russets. Quinoa over rice (or use long grain). Fruits and veggies. These are my goto carbs.
  • Or, use the numbers on here as a beginning reference. If you see no changes with your numbers then adjust as needed.
  • Was it at least 'good' PB?

  • I would dump the egg or tuna salad also. :) But thats just me
  • Anything heavy and fast
  • I train Muay Thai, Krav Maga, BJJ and CWS (no gi jits). Been training krav for over a year and the others I added roughly 6 months into training. Great workouts. My story...I was training Mauy Thai, I was the pad holder, not paying attention when my coach threw a kick. She didn't hit the pads, she hit my jaw. Luckily, it…

  • I train Gi and no gi. Ususally 2 days for each. I also train through a Machado affiliate. No gi is CSW through Erik Paulson. Still relatively new (no stripe white) but in no hurry. I know it will all come together. I don't have a favorite competitor and as Im usually on the bottom, most of my game is defense. But for…
  • I roll at least 4 days/week. 2 days in the Gi and 2 days no gi. I also do 1-2 days of Krav Maga and 2 days of a Muay Thai fitness (Cardio kickboxing). All are great for the cardio and the BJJ is an all body workout. You don't need a chiropractor if you do BJJ, thats for sure. :) Love the gym, love the coaches and if you…
  • My trainer has occasionally has me doing a 30min cardio session that she says will burn 400+. But it is a non-stop 30 min. I feel, it all depends on the person and the effort put forth on how many calories one would burn.
  • Anybody that doesn't stick to whatever program that they are on will regain the lost weight. Its not a shake thing. Its a mental thing. My wife has been doing the shakes for 2 months, still losing and we are maintaining a proper diet. You learn from the meals you eat, what you like and how much to eat.
  • This last few weeks, I have been doing a shake and some fruit for b-fast. Its quick and easy and at 5am, Im not all that hungry but know I have to put something in my body. I use MuscleMilk and EAS brands and I have found them to have the lowest sugar content. They are not make to fill you up, but to get you by. Like I…
  • You have to do it for you. You can't diet for your friends or family. It has to be a 'for you' thing. So, if your friends are not eating healthy, then that should be ok. You have to have the will power to push through that. I gave up alcohol. My wife and friends didn't. I still went to the bar. I did just fine. I still…
  • 3 months to lose 20# is totally doable. Depends when in July you are talking though. Watch your food, drink water and no alcohol or sugary drinks. Stay away from processed foods as much as possible.
  • I do it from time to time to switch things up. Anything you do that is repetition will get boring like others have said. You just have to listen to your body and make a switch every now and then. My wife also does what you are doing. Its really good for her in the beginning because she was seeing results. And with that,…
  • Fill out the MFP information to get a start on where you might need to be and then adjust accordingly. Weigh everything you eat and log it. Log all fitness. Find food pages on the net or FB. I like skinnytaste on FB. There are a lot of them. I eat very clean but not strict. No refined carbs. Good carbs and sugars are not…

  • I personally have never done it but have seen results from people that have.

  • I do water and unsweet tea. You have to watch the sodium in all the other drinks. Get some MYO to add to the water. It all depends on you and your end goals.
  • The leaner you get the slower your body will let go of it. I would say to make just slight adjustments to you meals. Baked fish (I like COD) over chicken for a while. Salads, veggies. But if you are that close to your goal, it could still take another 6-8 weeks. :(
  • I was 215# 1/2015 got down to 189# 6/2015. Back up to 203ish 12/2015. Now at last weigh in, was 180# 4/2016. Going to 160# walk around weight. Add me if you wish, but I don't sugar coat responses.
  • /\What they said. Dehydration and/or no fuel in the tank. And, if you are doing low carb, that'll do it also. Do good carbs instead of low carbs. Better for you in the long run.
  • Fruit mixed with low fat greek yogurt. Egg whites.
  • The first step for me was when I hit my heaviest (215#) and I knew I had to do something. So, I changed the way I worked out. I joined a different gym that offered combative sports type classes. I worked harder than I ever did in the past at a normal gym. So, that could be an option. I started MFP and started tracking…
  • Use your clothes and not the scale.
  • Truth. Your body will let you know
  • I estimate for my salads as its usually not that much. 5 cup salad would be huge to me . Dressing you should be able to track pretty well.
