I get really, really, really discouraged when goals/expectations aren't met. I can't even play the lottery because I get pissed (like, crazily, unreasonably angry) when I don't win. That's why I make my goals (a) achievable and (b) 100% (or near enough) within my power to achieve. My goal right now is about my log-in…

Not DVD's, but I love Fitness Blender videos off YouTube.

Fitnessblender.com Free, fun, and tons of variety.

I was trying to take head shots for my business card and found I didn't want to smile because it made my eyes disappear. Also, none of my clothes fit; even the brand new suit I thought I ordered a size too big was too small. Also, I was scooting behind my friend's chair at the dinner table, like we'd done a thousand times…

Nice!

Welcome to the real world, and MFP. You'll have to post a picture of yourself in that dress when it fits.

I don't have anything to help you, I just wanted to say I think it's cool that you're so aware of what's going on for you and you're able to articulate it and deal with it intentionally.

I'm pretty much with jemhh on this one. One Swiss Roll over your goal intake when the urge strikes is probably better than a whole pound of El Fudge cookies after you've been clawing at the furniture all day trying to stick strictly to your calorie count. Maybe even set your calorie goal just a smidge lower for the rest of…

Vegan here. There are a bunch.

I feel you! I'm also a little heavier now than I was the day I went into labor 11 years ago. I also have a record on MFP of my weight gain, and now have about 50 lb to lose. I love your goal. You can do it!

Yay! Thanks for the support!

I'm vegan (mostly, my son's omni so sometimes I eat his leftovers) and my diary is open. I eat a lot of canned soup. I love to cook, but finding the time and money is too much effort. Add me as a friend or just lurk my diary, I don't mind.

FitnessBlender.com + two sets of adjustable dumbbells (the kind with handles and disks, you can get them on eBay)

Peanut butter on Ezekiel toast. Comes in at about 300, depending on how much pb you put on, and hangs on longer than the same calories in oats or a smoothie.

Go slowly so you don't yo-yo. No matter how many times I heard it, I thought I was special and would exert my iron will to maintain my goal after a 2 or 1.5lb/wk loss. Turns out, I'm not that special, or strong, and every swing up gets higher and higher. Think about what you want your body and lifestyle to be like 3 or 5…

^^I second fitnessblender.com They have a huge selection of videos, including body weight and added weight strength and toning choices. You can buy their programs for a really reasonable price, and that will give you a calendar that tells you what to do each day, to take out the hassle of selecting a video.

I did a sun salutation while I waited for the tea kettle.

When my son was tiny (4 or 5 months) I went tried to go back to the gym and put him in the childcare there. He wasn't keen. If you go that route, I'd say try to talk the gym into giving you a free week pass to see if your kids do okay in the childcare. (That goes for any non-mom caregivers, too  )

The problem is probably that different varieties have different sugar content. Even the same variety can have variation. (Not that I want to encourage you to loose sleep over the difference.)

I'll join in. I'll have to count my starting point as when I started a couple of weeks ago, but 16 total by June 1 sounds perfect. What kind of deficit are you aiming for, OP? Did you get your workout in yet? (Don't eat the cake.)

I'd like to offer my perspective... I hope no one takes my different view as a personal affront. I know it's hazardous to offer unrequested feedback, but I hope I can be excused for not coddling anyone on this thread. I wish this thread could have been more constructive. I don't think wondering why a net intake that should…

Dude. I weighed myself last week when embarking on this little journey and was pleased that I wasn't quite as heavy as I thought I was. Eight days of intake restriction and increased exercise later: 12 pounds heavier. I totally blame the scale. It lulled me into confidence and then sucker punched me when my will was at its…

Your reaction is probably partly because you don't have kids. As long as my son's intake was 100% under my control, he ate well, but once he went to school, over friends' houses, etc., he developed a taste for food I'm less happy with. As a parent, it takes energy to hold firm, prepare only wholesome meals, endure the…

You may not need as much protein as MFP suggests. Every body is different, and everybody has different goals. You can find some good (and some not so good) suggestions online for protein needs. I've been vegan for 23 years, and since I started tracking my intake on MFP I notice my protein comes in a little under their…

I want to be stronger than I look, for those awesome "let me help you, little lady" moments, but I also want to work in television, as a writer, and I would love to feel sexy around actors.

You asked, "How do you forgive yourself and move on?" so I think you've got half the battle won. I used to have a major problem with binge eating, like, the "B" word major. It took me years to realize that the solution was to be kind to myself and just put an episode of overeating behind me. Separate your self worth from…
