I've considered using exactly this scenario in a math problem. It's a good one for the concept of limits. If you could somehow know very precisely the number of calories you will need to maintain your goal weight and make sure that you eat exactly that number of calories every day, you would get closer and closer to your…

Nice!! I'm so excited for you! You look really great already. (But keep going if that's what you want!)

That's the weird thing, though. Not to put too fine a point on it, but let's just say that stepping on the scale is the very first thing I do in the morning. It's not the "ensuing waste" that's missing from my morning weigh-ins. Anyway. And also, I certainly don't usually weigh myself twice a day. I just got in the habit…

I third the Fitness Blender people. They're adorbs.

I had the opportunity a few times to take the helm of a large sailing vessel. The first few times, I did a terrible job holding a steady course. I'd go a little off in one direction and then swing too far back in the other direction. Before I knew it sails were luffing, and sailors were laughing. The first mate said,…

Sometimes, not always, we binge because our bodies are freaking the freak out that we're not feeding them enough. Take it from someone (me) who has a lot of experience exerting and trying to exert my will to be thin over the needs of my body: Consider the long-term outcomes of the paths you're on, and don't underestimate…

fitnessblender.com I haven't ever gotten bored from exercise, but I they talk about it a lot :)

Thanks for posting. You probably saved a bunch of people the trouble of running a similar experiment ourselves.

Hey! Your height and starting weight are almost exactly what mine are, and my goal weight is a tiny bit lower. I hope that doesn't happen to me. Anyway, everyone else already gave great answers. You're doing fine, you know what a healthy body shape is for you, and you'll stop if you start to feel unhealthy or your BMI dips…

I had two today: I had to roll the top of my jeans over to keep them up, and (with a bra on) I casually placed my elbows on the table in front of me, elbow and wrist bones together. I was like, "what is this weird feeling I'm feeling?" It's funny the things you don't notice you're not doing anymore until you can do them…

Nice. I'd love it if the BMI chart didn't apply to me because I'm so awesome.

:) You already know the answer or you wouldn't be here, lol. Figure out your numbers, log your food, keep that "calories remaining" number green. It's simple, but it's not easy. Pushups?

Oh, I have the best answer! Put some frozen berries in it. I drink out of quart jars so I put a quarter cup or half cup in, but in a glass you'd only put in a few tablespoons. It flavors the water and you get a sweet treat at the end. A half cup of berries is 35 calories. A small price to pay if you ask me. I also like my…

Hey Laura, It's so loving of you to want the best for your mom and sister and to want to be gentle and considerate with your approach. It's so incredibly tricky. Here's something I've noticed in my life as a teacher, writer, and just observer of life in general: You can't actually tell a person anything unless they already…

The sexiest I ever felt was at 140-145. I was lean but curvy. I have a pretty broad frame and tend to be muscular.

What is it about working out at home that's hard for you?

Nice! I love your TMNT shirt :)

Hey Megan, I don't really know what to say but I wanted to just let you know that I went through a similar ordeal and I remember it being awful, like I didn't have control over my own actions, and I felt HUGE after having been so (dangerously) thin for so long and just mad at myself for losing the "control" I'd been so…

I hear you! I don't really mind black coffee, but I usually drink thermoses full of strong black tea with (soy)milk. I have also looked into caffeinated gum. I haven't tried it, but it gets good reviews on Amazon. Also helps: yoga breaks, water, and a decent chair.

I've heard Beano helps. I'll also add my voice to the "don't worry too much about your macros" chorus.

Here's what I would do: Make sure the dress and flowers go well with your hair and tattoos. Then find it in yourself to really own the moment. You're an artist, you know how subtle expressions, posture, and gestures can affect a scene. Be gorgeous. To help with that, go on google image search and search for "queen latifah…

I just came on this thread to confuse you even more, lol. I have been in the camp of "infrequently as possible" (monthly or more) so that the daily and sometimes weekly ups and downs don't discourage me. However, just yesterday I read a headline about a study (Hmm, maybe "study", I don't remember the source.) that…

Nice! Look at those smiles :) I also appreciate your use of the word "each" btw.

Could you eat twice as much soup (etc)? (one cup of soup is such a small amount for a meal!) A handful of pumpkin seeds? An apple with peanut butter? (Are you sure you're only eating one cup of soup? Like, half a mug full?) I know what you mean about being less hungry on work out days. Over time I think that will even out…
