  • I agree about the food scale! I got a cheap one at Target and I have been really surprised sometimes. Surprised on the bad side and the GOOD side so I think its worth the investment and time. Since I started this whole food tracking thing I've gotten so much better at my math and measurements. How many of your friends know…
  • Lots of great encouragement here. Love the great advise from some of the success stories. I really do think it gets harder as you age (and yes, lose muscle mass) because I will admit that I don't have the muscle I used to. I'm unemployed right now and I have a new kitten so I spend way, WAY too much time in my recliner…
  • This is such great advise, I'm going to start the resistance training. I've been pretty good about my diet (1,000-1,200 well balanced) but I've lost 1 dear blessed pound in 5 weeks. AND, I'm going to try to break my self in in short intervals during the day. I hope that this helps everybody else too, some great advise here.
  • I agree that it might not be as bad for you as you think. Maybe remembering how bad it makes you feel will help you restrain in the long run. I know that when I binge it often isn't as satisfying (good tasting) as I thought it would be. As for too aggressive goals, is 2 lbs a week too much?

On the day that I don't exercise I really try to keep it around 1,000 and I have finally started to lose some weight. Using…
  • I'm 45 and I've gained 10 pounds since I was laid off in May. I started using MFP a month ago and I've gained and lost the same 7 pounds about 3 times now! Now I'm down again and back to the gym and struggling with support. I'm looking for partners in crime for this healthy living thing!
  • It sounds like people weigh more often when trying to lose which makes sense. I'm with the group of people who weigh almost daily and average out the peaks and valleys. I agree about same time, first thing in the AM for me for consistency
  • Ugh, it really does get more stubborn as you get older! Lose it before your body changes. I've been eating well and doing cardiovascular since I lost my job in June and I can't seem to shake it. Being honest with this app and keeping focused on your goal hopefully helps. Please stick with it and look here for support when…
