I agree with some of the comments about habit and routine being more important than motivation. Behavioral conditioning, I suppose you could say. I have read that anything you do for 90 days in a row becomes a permanent habit.

Maybe you need synthroid to supplement your low thyroid levels.

Start slowly and gradually, but whatever you do, try to do it daily. Even if it's a 15 minute walk. Consistency is the key. Good luck!

Great to be doing it for your son and congratulations on your progress so far. But I think you should also do it for yourself. Because YOU deserve it.

Congratulations on the amazing progress so far. As you continue your journey, don't forget to be kind to yourself. Pushing yourself is fine, but only up to a point.

Wow, you have made some great progress! Congratulations! Like you, I need to get back to my workouts. I had leg surgery a month ago but now it is completely healed and I have no excuse for not going to the gym except laziness.

Excellent! Amazing!

Thought for the day: be as kind to yourself as you are to your best friend.

Good luck, Brett!

Thanks, wonderful people! I am new to these boards and the support I am getting is phenomenal! I have started to support others in their struggles, too.

Be as kind to yourself and forgiving of yourself as you would to a best friend. You are worth at least as much, right?

Thanks, JAY!!!

Well, you have taken an important first step in joining this board and making public your situation. That takes courage. Now you have come out of the closet, so to speak. I have been bingeing recently and have now decided I just can't keep any of my binge food in the house. I also just started taking Vyvanse, a stimulant…

I have worked various shifts over the years but I almost never binge at work. I assume it's because I don't want to embarrass myself in front of my co-workers. I also need to be at my emotional/mental best when I am at work. But when I get home, I am in the privacy of my own apartment, the work day is over and that's…

Yep, she's cute!

Wow, great work! Bet you feel better, too!

OK, we are all responsible for our actions but please don't be too hard on yourself!
