  • Do some swimming if you are able.
  • Wow, I would say with 50 lbs lost in 3 months, your body is saying "whew, I need a breather!" :)

  • I may be wrong, but I am still hearing a "diet" mindset. Lots of restrictions that result in the need for a "cheat" day, along with a unrealistic goal date. Something tells me the date is a "if I can do it by then I can stop dieting!". All of this leads to regaining the weight, even if you have initial success. You really…
  • I love chopped salads too.
  • Another kind of weird recipe from my childhood...half a hamburger bun topped with "beanie-weenies" (pork-n-beans with cut up hotdogs and a little mustard), a slice of onion, and crowned with a slice of cheese. Put under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese melts. I still get a craving for these every once in a…
  • The OP posted over 3 years ago. Still rings all the woo alerts.
  • If you are doing 10K steps and Zumba several times a week, aren't you earning extra calories, OP? You should be able to eat at least some of those back.
  • You look terrific. Soon you will be doing the Maintenance Mambo!
  • I am still trying to get my chin off my chest from my jaw dropping. You are truly an inspiration.
  • Fantastic progress. The changes are dramatic! Keep up the great work!
  • @SueSueDio , nothing weird about a fried egg sandwich. I love egg sandwiches (and burritos). Any combination of peanut butter, banana and honey as a sandwich is delicious. I used to put potato chips on tuna sandwiches often. As a kid, I used to eat lettuce sandwiches, just lettuce, Miracle Whip and lots of salt. This last…
  • I made a similar apology. I was convinced that I hated the stuff, probably from tasting it in childhood. When I changed my lifestyle, I knew it would be a good and convenient item to have in my diet. I picked up the Breakstone Doubles with fruit, and loved it! Now I eat it all the time. My favorite is with pineapple,…
  • Cheetos dipped in Miracle Whip. Hubby thinks I'm crazy on that one.
  • I am concerned about the opposite problem. Here in Texas the winters are mild, so it was no problem to walk all winter. As the Texas summer rolls in, long walks in 105 degree weather will not be my cup of tea. My gym is a good drive away from me, so I can't just pop up there anytime. I have been following CoffeeNCardio's…
  • Exactly. I had crowns and bridges by the time I was 12. No, I was a normal kid, did not have constant sugary drinks or foods. I brushed twice a day. Wasn't as good with flossing, but I did do it. Used fluoride toothpaste, and had fluoridated water. My life for many years was a long series of root canals, periodontal…
  • Love mine with fruit, especially pineapple. Have heard others rave about it with tuna, haven't tried that yet.
  • OP, if you are looking for answers on how you might tackle that last 40 lbs (if it's not going well), then why not ask the community for some ideas? There will certainly be more people here who have been in your shoes than will have positive opinions of this diet.
  • I took a look at it. OP, it's complete woo, a fad diet, and is completely unnecessary. All that is necessary is to burn more calories than you eat (calories in, calories out, CICO). Eat what you like in appropriate portions to stay under your calorie goal. A digital food scale is strongly recommended. Good luck!
  • I echo the advice for more patience. Also please be prepared to gain some weeks. It's going to happen, even if you are doing nothing wrong and sticking to the plan. It will be water weight from a high sodium day, hormone fluctuation, TOM (if that applies) and many other possibilities. If you are sticking with the plan, it…
  • Wonderful for you, I'm jealous too. Was a bit worried for a moment that you might have another underlying issue, but it sounds like you are being checked regularly. Good for you.
  • Today? Breakfast: Slice of rye toast, hard-boiled egg, greek yogurt Lunch: Baked salmon, long grain and wild rice, broccoli Dinner: Chili dogs! Snack: Cottage cheese and peaches
  • Are you at 1200 calories? I am thinking that 2 lbs a week is too aggressive at this stage for your stats. Likely you cannot expect 2 lbs a week now, and need to change your goals to 1 lb or at minimum, 1.5 lbs a week. I know you said no loss, but you also said "going into week 2", which suggests it has been little more…
  • Water weight. It will be temporary. Such fluctuations are perfectly normal.
  • Everyone's weight fluctuates up and down. It's perfectly normal. Are you weighing daily or weekly? Are you weighing at the same time of day each time? I echo others who assure you that you are doing fine. It has not been long enough yet to show a solid trend. Take a deep breath and carry on.
  • I completely agree with the scale being key. Sadly, many who "cannot lose weight" resist using one.
  • I have to ask, how much did you expect to lose in a month?
  • Congratulations on your loss. You are doing great.
  • Thanks so much for posting this. I definitely bookmarked it. Very enjoyable read. This needs to be posted in response to every "eat more, you may be in starvation mode!" posts.
  • Hermesetas liquid (cyclamates) as a sugar substitute has been key for me, as I am a southern girl addicted to sweetened iced tea. Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese, used to hate it, love it now. I eat more broccoli, tomatoes, and cucumbers. About to try brussel sprouts again, want to try them roasted. Almond milk, which I found…
  • Don't make the mistake of getting discouraged when your weight fluctuates. Even while losing weight overall, it will go up and down with water weight, TOM, etc. Just watch the trends.
