Remember that MFP calories goals do not include exercise, so you should be eating at least part of your exercise calories back. That being said, it really sounds like you need to slow your rate of loss and increase your calories. What is your goal weight? I suspect at 185 you don't need to be pushing for 2 lbs a week.

People!! For heavens sake, STOP with the food scale advice. OP has stated numerous times that she has had problems with disordered eating in the past and that food scales are a trigger for her. Accept it. With all other information given, recomp should really be the goal.

I like the taste. Love it on cereal. Less calories. Lots of calcium (fortified, not natural). Longer shelf life.

Will you be staying in hotels or traveling in a RV or ??

In case you are not aware, MFP will not assign anything lower than 1200 for a female. If you chose to lose 1 lb per week, and the calculation came out less than 1200, it is going to give you 1200, period. I would check on what it gives you for .5 lb a week. If it still comes out 1200 or only slightly higher, then 1 lb per…

Can you get that rule in writing? I would not be dieting at all, I would be prepping for challenging the rule. It's ridiculous.

No need at all to give up cheese and fruit. It's all about calories, not where you get them from (for weight loss). But ilex70 has a good point about Chipotle or other fast food restaurants. If I do get fast food and want the cheese, I order it without, bring it home, and put on my own cheese so I can control the portion.…

Exercise can certainly help and is great for your general health. But weight loss starts in the kitchen. Focus on lowering your calorie intake.

It depends on where you get your estimates from. MFP tends to over estimate, so the general recommendation is to eat back 50-75%. If you have a more accurate source such as a heart rate monitor, you can eat all of them back, Either way, re-evaluate your loss rate after 4-6 weeks, and adjust as necessary.

I don't know about at Starbucks, but the Torani line of sugar-free syrups (zero calorie) are really good. World Market carries them. Many flavors are available. Right now I am loving Salted Caramel.

Apparently the 2 lbs a week I have been losing for months now eating back my FitBit calories from walking, yoga, and water aerobics has just been magic!! Who knew?

Wow! You did this so fast!. Congratulations on a huge achievement.

Hard boiled eggs. Yogurt. Cottage cheese. Fruit. String cheese. I also buy a packaged chicken salad from Costco that comes in single serving containers (and it's actually very good!). I can grab one of those and a piece of flatbread to roll it up in and be out the door. Sargento Balanced Breaks.

The problem is that if you undereat, you will lose too much muscle mass along the way. Then trying to get lean and fit will be much harder. The better plan would be to lose at a slower rate. Eat to your goal.

So, do you think we will see any posts asking of this is a good diet for weight loss? >:)

Congratulations and good luck as you continue! Very nice start.

For me, I want to say it was MFP itself. Without the information on this website, I very much doubt I would have ever bought a digital scale, or tracked calories for the last 9 months. The tools made it so much easier. Add to that the community where I learned about weight fluctuations and patience, thus did not get…

NO, the porridge is fine as long as you are within your calorie goal. The statement that the carbs will add weight is completely false. Pay no attention to it.

It seems that FitBit will pick up steps while in a car for some, and not for others. It might be different engine rhythms, terrain, who knows. Mine does give me false steps while I am driving. BUT, I noticed it right away and looked for a solution. The solution for me was the DriveBit app. It updates the FitBit on the…

I have 4 dogs, all different personalities. I don't take two of them on my "exercise" walks, I take them on leisurely walks at another time. I power walk, and these two have to stop and sniff every two feet. I can't get going!

You're right, I apologize. But I was so flabbergasted at someone unhappy with that rate of loss, I was sure you were a troll. As others have stated, you really need to reevaluate your expectations.

Seriously?

I find it much easier to use the app instead of the website for the diary. The search finds my entries first.

Is it? I guess my mom missed that one! It was new to me when we married....

Tried it with salsa and some Tostitos scoops last night. Delicious, this will be a new snack on my list.

My husband makes what he calls "ants on a log". Celery topped with PB and sprinkled with raisins.

Ah! A beanie-weenie buddy! :)

I am going on a 2 week cruise, but refuse to pay the ridiculous prices for the slow-as-snails internet on board. So I will lose my streak. Kind of peeved, but definitely a first world problem.

Hard boiled egg, one slice of rye toast, and Chobani 100 greek yogurt.

I am going to guess that you set up your profile to lose 2 lbs a week. But the fact that MFP assigned you 1200, which is the lowest it will go, likely means you won't actually lose that much a week, because you cannot do so in a healthy manner at your size. Relax and go with it. A half pound a week is great at your height.…
